But seriously folks, after six years of owning this car, I have so few complaints. Yeah the paint sucks. And now, I'm working on the things that will make it drive the way I want it to, but I love the Subaru reliability and performance.

I have yet to have mine for 6 months yet much less 6 years lol, but i definatly in this short time have realize how sad the factory paint is. I have owned cars twice this ones age that had better condition paint that was original. Past the paint though i love this car, i think a lot of the time people compare their new car to their old ones and thats where a lot of issues may arrive. For me i am very happy with the little saabaru , my only real issue is the damn thing seems to be a bird magnet i have NEVER owned a car before that has been targeted as much as this one.

I've told my wife that if something terrible happens, engine blows or whatever, I'd be super happy to spend the few grand to rebuild, replace it instead of looking for a new car. I plan on keeping this thing at least until 200,000 miles.

Mine periodically sticks I have found that physically moving the handle back to the closed position and then using the door switch to open and close the locks a couple of times will open it. Then I lube it when I get home. It seems to me that the unlock isnt catching because the handle gets stuck in the open position rather than the lock itself is broken/ rusted shut.

Yup that is exactly what is happening. Once the dirt builds up enough. Then you clean it with WD40 and then eventually dirt sticks there and the cycle continues. Kinda funny tho.

Mine was messed up when i first got it, lubed it and it worked fine for about a week and then did it again. Ended up taking the assembly out of the car and disassembled the thing and cleaned and lubed everything and bent a lever or two until everything worked properly and put it back in and haven't had any issues since
