OP, I would highly suggest not listening to anything Homyality has said in this thread. No model year WRX hood will work without replacing other body panels, it's not a good idea to cut holes into your hood and fabricate your own scoop, and finally, 9-2x parts will not be found in Sweden.
I guess this makes me an asshole, right Homyality?
Your reading comprehension skills are on par with that of a monkey's.
I have clearly stated it is not worth the amount of work it would take to get a WRX hood to work, based on having to replace everything.
However, I have MULTIPLE times said he should get a regular Linear hood and, if he is looking for the sport look, get a WRX HOOD SCOOP and do the fabrication work to put it on.
I don't make you out to be an asshole; you do. You jump to conclusions and make the absolute most ridiculous assumptions based on nothing I have ever seen.
Now go back and reread what all I said. I hope you feel like a genius.

For all of you jumping the gun on dishing out hate to a new member, why? This is a community that will only continue to grow smaller and smaller based on the number of these slowly coming off the road and the fact many of you insist on being complete douche bags to new members. This guy, albeit lacking some common sense to only make one thread, had a legitimate question about how to go about getting a hood. How is he supposed to know there is a waiting list for it? Or that it is extremely hard to find? The first response by someone could have been, "Hey mate, don't make multiple threads. Also, this hood is very hard to come by. I suggest sticking with a Linear hood." But no, some asshat had to go off calling him an idiot for wanting it just for sporty looks.

You are correct. I did misread your bit about the WRX hoods, but it's still a bad idea to cut up a Linear hood and slap on a WRX scoop. Also, you're a silly goose for advising him to look in Sweden and commenting on how people aren't being helpful.
Anyways, besides misreading one small bit (which was still a bad suggestion), I think my criticism was pretty fair. You made some ridiculous assumptions.
Finally, we're nice and helpful to new members who aren't idiots, and we're curt and insulting to those who are. If he can take the criticism and learn from it, nobody will care the next time he makes a thread, and will be happy to help (as long as it's not something that can be found by a simple search).
Now go back and reread the thread. Note that you've received more criticism than he has, and that nobody called him an idiot for wanting a sportier look.

I don't think you guys should hold back how you really feel about his mod plans.
Let him know how you REALLY feel...
If he's going to do the hood he also needs this though:

Why risk completely ruining a rare aluminum hood by cutting a hole in it? Not to mention the WRX scoop is a completely different shape than the 9-2x scoop. Do you want me to post another side-by-side comparison for you?

My God, you're an idiot. Buying a Linear hood and buying ANY hood scoop and custom fabricating it in is not that difficult. My posts said my personal recommendation was to get a Linear hood and, if he was going to do it, was to get a 2002-2005 hood scoop because it would look alright on there. You have the same reading comprehension problem Chris does.

Did I ever say it was a good idea? Quote me on saying that. I said my personal recommendation was to get a Linear hood and, if he must have a sport look, to go and get a hood scoop (my recommendation was a WRX one) and custom fabricate it on. Also, if either of you paid attention, I was NOT the first one to recommend that.
I made no assumptions. I did not recommend him to look in Sweden. I said, logically, there are three places this car is associated with. Sweden is one of them. Obviously, the only place to look is honestly North America.
Oh, and read the very first response in this thread. I believe he was quite clear on, and I'll do my best to quote, "So you're telling me you want a rare hood that people are waiting for purely because it looks cool?" Your "no one" has turned into someone.
Oh, and quote me on any ridiculous assumptions I made? Please, I'm curious. You very obviously try to stir shit up. You look for reasons to be an asshole. This causes you to spew false bullshit all the time.

WTF? He doesn't need to cut a hole in his aluminum hood to put in a fake scoop to make his linear look like a fake Aero.
He just needs to go to JCWhitney and get this:

You still didn't answer my question. I asked you why you think it's a good idea to try cutting up an expensive, rare, aluminum hood to get a "sporty" look. I had no problem understanding your posts, I just don't follow your logic.

If you meant to use the gold star like the grade school gold star, then yes, a thumbs up would suffice
