Re: Ver7 swapped Desert Silver Aero

I think that i am also goin to take the roof rails and have them powder coated crinkle flat black and find a Tule or similar roof rack for my bike! The previous owner stripped the center part down and its now starting to get a lil bit of surface rust! i like the look but not of the rust! Then a lil megan coil action!

Re: Ver7 swapped Desert Silver Aero

Very nice indeed.  I need to be honest though, I like the VW wheels better.  The Rotas are quite nice but there is something about them Beetle wheels that I loved on your car.

Re: Ver7 swapped Desert Silver Aero

Its my day of lucky  big_smile. Got an 07 STi radio/aux (which will be on its way to these cats to get a red led conversion) and a new coil pack to take care of my #3 misfire!

Re: Ver7 swapped Desert Silver Aero

Cobb STS and STi limited button installed
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj231/06jaxsuby/2012-01-20193555.jpg

Time to install the 05 STi harness. Its gunna be a PITA
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj231/06jaxsuby/2012-01-21122800.jpg

If any of you guys are wanting to do an STi cluster conversion that is later than an 04, you will need the harness for it to work properly. the top left connector on the cluster should look like this one, thats how you know its the proper harness. If you swap in an 04 cluster you can rock your stock harness bc the top left connector is the same (has one less row on the left than the pictured). Anything from an 04 STi is a direct bolt into a WRX or 9-2x. The differences came in 05 and on. If you put in an 05-07 STi cluster you will need an 05 STi cluster harness. You may be asking why an 05...well ill tell you! 02-05 WRX/STi used the same clock. In 06 they changed it to where the passenger airbag on/off light was there thus the connector is different. So if you happen to have one of the few 06 Aeros and want to do an STi cluster, you will need an 06-07 cluster harness. For the other 95% of the aeros that are 05's...an 05 harness is what you need. Hope that helps people that may be looking into doing this mod in the future.

Do you have any pictures from the side on the new wheels?  I have the the same color Aero and the STI gold wheels, but I'm not really a fan of them.  I'm interested in something else smile

Re: Ver7 swapped Desert Silver Aero

so today was eventful for the 9-2x. I installed the 05 STi gauge cluster harness. It was a lil bit of a PITA but not too bad and its def worth the fact that i know that everthing is working as it should. here are some pics i took while doing it. She is running great now. The #3 misfire issue was corrected with a new coil pack so now the stage2 flash is acting as it should! I also picked up a set of baller 06 STi black floor mats. for all you cats that want some the PN to give to your local subaru dealership is sci44ob202.

Compare this plug with the one in post 38 and you will see the difference!

I have to slide on over to saab dealership tomorrow and get my key code from them so i can have my STi titanium key blank cut at the subaru dealership. Cobb springs should be here tomorrow and rear 1/4" spacers are on order!
