Re: Bitch at Bob Bichen thread!

My ameritech.net email still works. It's owned by AT&T now (has been for years). It just doesn't work with this site anymore.  Not sure why. I am sure it has something to do on Bob's end. I'd like to get it figured out as I don't think the email I am currently using to forward these to my ameritech email will be around forever.

Re: Bitch at Bob Bichen thread!

I dropped my ameritech internet service and quit using my ameritech.net e-mail address 18 months ago, but the e-mail address lives on for unexplainable reasons.  We expected it to die instantly once we dropped their internet service.

Re: Bitch at Bob Bichen thread!

I have never even heard of ameritech  driving.

Another thing that bugs me, which isn't really an issue with the site but rather something i wouldn't mind seeing changed is this. arrow-down

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v254/kozman04/92x.jpg

The numbering should go 1...11 12 13 or 1...28 29 30 instead of 1 2 3...X. If you have a large thread going over 10 or so pages, why would you ever need a link to pages 2 or 3. Honestly if you are new to the thread, you start at page one, and if you have been following the thread, you go to the last page or a few pages before. It makes no sense(that I can think of in my closed mind) to have those links. Yes, I realize that the system in place is the system used across most if not all forums, BUT IT IS WRONG! Lets start a revolution and make change, because CHANGE IS GOOD!

Re: Bitch at Bob Bichen thread!

Damn, good point.  I never noticed that design failure.

Anyways, since the forum is moving to vBulletin, I doubt they're going to make any changes to its punBB implementation.

That is quite weird.  Is anyone else having the error?  It may have just been a server glitch.  confused unamused

Re: Bitch at Bob Bichen thread!

You get that error when you use the search function and at the bottom change the "show results as" to "posts" instead of "topics".

If we buy stuff through the tire rack link at the top of the page, who gets the ad money now?

Re: Bitch at Bob Bichen thread!

Can I make a request with the vBulletin site development?  Within the HTML markup, on each post DIV element, please include something like the following:

class="iamchris"

or

class="1033"

(user ID)

There doesn't have to be anything defined for these classes in the stylesheet, but it will make add-on development FAR easier than it is on here.  More customization (Greasemonkey scripts) to ones liking = higher user satisfaction = more content = more ad money for AutoForums.

Re: Bitch at Bob Bichen thread!

Screw that.  I'll gladly make a small site donation for the ability to develop some small script that will allow people to automatically ignore Abacuz and kirby if we so choose.

*edit* on an individual user-by-user basis, of course. The user would have to manually install the script, likely graciously hosted by the kind Michael Kassis at www.michaelkassis.com.

The site is slow as hell right now. It's taking me up to 15 seconds to load a page. No issues with other sites.

Ok, tried to post a reply today.  no chance!  logged out, back in, no chance.  logged out, closed IE, logged in and could post.  is this a forum issue or an IE issue?  i don't like to login/out multiple times as i lose new posts since last visit.

what's going on???

the speed issue seems to be resolved.
