The new engine will undoubtedly make short work of rapid overtaking and acceleration, but with all wheel drive harnessing the extra grunt it won't be a torque-steering ordeal. Also positive, the added torque will without doubt benefit automatic transmission equipped versions. Again, this is only a U.S. destined model new, so Canadians are left to lament from afar.

I went to a site that references trade in values based on Canadian Black Book, similar to blue book from the US:

2005's lists two trims, Linear & Aero, but for 2006, trim level only "Base".  I think this put the nail in the casket, no 2006 Aero's in Canada.

No wonder even at an all SUBARU show  (2009 Subiefest at Willow Springs Raceway north of Los Angeles in Rosamond, CA) people still came up to me and asked me WOW! That dude put a Boxer engine into that SAAB...
Still I am proud to be driving a great stealth car....too bad not more AERO's in Manual 5 speeds running around. Really too bad that the models didn't go on for longer.  An Sti package would have been nice  (look what Subaru has done to the Sti since 2008)  and there are a few other options I could think of but

Happy to be still driving my    2005 M/T  Dealer installed short shifter and Factory Gauge package...who needs to know what time it is when you're in the canyons!!!

:banghead:Sadly I must sell this car to keep afloat during these economic times and keep my  1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible in the stable. Sad also because the Challenger will never ever come close to handling like the Saabaru and it won't go out in the snow...RATS!

FYI: In the dead and almost gone Found in the Current LA Craigslist there is a Dark Blue being parted out.  Drivetrain is already gone but there are numerous small parts avaiable.

Search LA Craigslist then FOR SALE and add keywords SAAB 92x and Santa Clarita to find ad posted December 1st.
I haven't contacted him as its via CL contact E-mail only but jump on it to see if you need something.
I'll post in West Coast also to spread the word.

I would think so.  Your car is only a shell of a 92x.  No offense, but, anyone could slam internals like that into a shell.  Maybe not with such style, but a stock 92x is the real deal.  IMO.  btw i love you car.  pools of mercury and all!

It's been ages since I've seen another Aero on the road, it's always older broads in Linears. 

Some equipment breakdowns based on the information gathered thus far:

2006 (14 Aeros, 22 Linears):
20/36 cars have the Cold Package (~56%)
9/36 cars have the Leather Package (~25%)
7/14 cars have the Sport Package (~50% - these are all Aeros)
13/36 cars have the Moonroof (~36%)

2005 (113 Aeros, 139 Linears):
103/252 cars have the Cold Package (~41%)
55/252 cars have the Premium Package (~22%)
39/113 cars have the Sport Package (~35% - these are all Aeros)
46/139 cars have the Moonroof (~33% - these are all Linears)

I'd still like more '06 cars for a better analysis. So I'm reaching out again for people to have their information added to the registry, PM me with Year, last 4 of VIN, color and equipment.

Keep looking, they're out there. Just keep in mind that you'll probably have to travel a little ways to get "the one".

These are interesting percentages, thanks for the work.   

I would be interested in seeing what the combo percentages are.  I mean numbers like, "if a car had the sport package, xx% got the moonroof also."  Or, "xx% of the cars that got leather got all options."  Something like the notes about all the cars being Aeros or Linears.

I'm not a stats guy, but I don't think taking all the percentages gives you an accurate account of the rarity of your car.   AND I WANT FACTS!   

And a fact to be confirmed, http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks. … ptions.htm seems to indicate that, on the Aero at least, the leather package requires the sport package.
