I know Matt Black.  He's a douche.  Never met Matt White though.  Euro seems to like him.   They are both good rappers though.  biggrin

That's pretty cool. I vinyl has come a long way since I used it a few years ago, those had to be overlaminated with a clear and was so much thicker.
This vinyl looks like it's pretty thin.

So, which one of you brave souls is going to do this?

I'd like to try.  I don't have the cashmoney to splurge on a professional install, so I'd have to DIY unamused , so that means that it will probably look like ass, and I'll take it off, and then I'll be  mad because I blew $400 on a roll of vinyl.  If I did the matte black, Areas like the hood scoop surround, and door handles which would be the mother of all PITAs, might look ok silver, probably not though...  Doors, roof, hatch, side skirts, fenders, all are pretty straightforward and probably won't be too bad [/talking out of my ass], but the front and rear bumpers, and hood have me worried...

I kind of agree, I just like the challenge of doing it without seams.
I wrapped a Scion once and that was fun. fugly graphics but still fun.

I'd really like to wrap my roof in gloss black, but it borders on rice for me. I do love the look though. The blacked out Audi wagon is sick.

Going to very expensive to wrap the entire car. I'm not against it at all. If you have the coin go for it. It's just that you can almost guarantee that they won't have a template for a 9-2x so it will be a custom job. That equals big moolah.  eek

I think it would be an easy way to get rid of all the scratches and moonscape textured hood i have.

im going to call them and see how much it is just for interest.

What about this? There a clearbra film now that is transparent without a shine, perfect for making your silver into matte silver. I like the look, a lot.

Getting that installed on my roof and mirrors saturday along with my clear bra.  Down with matte black roof!  Matte mystic blue ftw.  (btw the above, Aerotech Industries "frostbite" film is just vinyl, not equivalent to clearbra, yet is pretty damn expensive)

Re: Vinyl wrapping the 9-2x, what do we think?

These vinyl wraps are pretty cool stuff like everyone has mentioned.  I wish I had the coin to do my car when I first got it, it is amazing how it saves the paint overtime.

A buddy of mine had his Porsche cup car wrapped (the expensive kind, a couple thousand for the car) with some sponsor designs.  After three years of racing (full schedule), the vinyl started to look beat up, so he took the vinyl off (I was there for it) and the paint under it was flawless.

Re: Vinyl wrapping the 9-2x, what do we think?

guy quited me 2500 for anything i want done on the car . i asked him, can you print an oak pattern so my car looks like a tree ? he cracked up and said yes, no problem.
the Matte look he said as above is done by applying anycolor anydesign and then a matte clear over it.

he will call me back to get a better quote once he put the car on the computer and gets the exact square footage ..

for 2500 get a new custom paint job  does not sound too bad ...

Re: Vinyl wrapping the 9-2x, what do we think?

There's a vendor on NASIOC that was doing a group buy/install deal in NH I believe.  We talked back and forth.  I was looking at wrapping the car in a WRB.  He quoted me a grand for the whole car.  I really want to do it, however I'm getting married this Summer and want to have a nice honeymoon as well http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z89/305mouse/fun%20photos/unamused_crab.gif

Aba, if you go making your car into a tree, there is no tree you could climb that would get you out of my reach from smacking the ever-living piss outta you... just a heads up.
