Firearms Thread - decision street (UPDATE PAGE 4! Range Report)

This is the first firearms thread I've started on  92x banana

I can't figure out what to buy next.

Possibilities:

http://www.tromix.com/images/S02-16inchwt.gif
Tromix Saiga 12 conversion w/ modifications. This and a modified 870 tactical are the only shotguns I'll ever buy. I've had a serious boner for Saiga 12s for years now, but this is more money than I'd like to spend at the current. Mags are also expensive.

http://www.galleryofguns.com/prod_images/PX9105MLP.JPG
Springfield Loaded MC Operator. I don't have a 1911, and this is the one I'd get. $1100 is a bit of money--more than I have, but I've been long debating saving up for this for quite some time now.

http://www.czub.cz/get_img.php?img=img/CZ_75_SP-01.JPG&width=450
CZ-75 SP-01 Tactical. A very likely candidate. I'm jonesin' HARD for this pistol. After a bit of training with it, it could easily become an alternate carry pistol. I love 9x19s.

http://www.gunreports.com/media/newspics/selector/SPRINGFIELD-XD9-SERVICE-1207-1_1.jpg
Springfield XD-9 service, possibly XD-45 service. Great pistols, pretty likely candidates. I'm thinking I'll probably get an SP-01 first, though.

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b8d923b3127ccec4d1f4ca688800000040O08QZsWLZwxag9vPhQ/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D480/ry%3D320/
HK USP Compact 9mm, Variant 1. I found one of these for 575 +ship like new..

http://www.tgscom.com/images/sharedimages/hk45/HK45.JPG
HK45 or HK45c. This is an alternative to the compact--an alternative that I like very much. Very little holster availability at this time, though.

http://www.wing21.rtaf.mi.th/wboard/165254820232.jpg
HK PSP P7/P7M8/P7M13. I really, really want these pistols. There were quite a few introduced into the market recently, but were I to buy one, I'd probably get it refinished. That would make it more pricey, and more waiting time. I really want one, though.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v432/camneus/mp5kwUMPstock_06.jpg
MP5K PDW. I already have an MP5A5, but I still want an MP5k. However, this would require a) a lot of money; b) tons of hassle with paperwork and ATF, etc; c) a lot of waiting. Since it would be a clone, I would also be spending quite a bit of money replacing parts with HK factory parts.

http://remtek.com/arms/sig/model/225/225.gif
Sig P6 (P225), West German. I carry a P226 every day, but a ton of German police-issue P6s were unloaded onto the market and can be had for at or below $300 bucks. Arsenal refurbished/refinished models for about 30 bucks more. It's likely I'll end up with one of these also if I chose something that isn't all that expensive.

Other stuff:

http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/images/test2/AKIronDot.jpg
LaRue Tactical AK Iron-dot. My AK is begging me for one.

Various parts and accessory replacement for the AR-15 (new free-floating fore-end, low-profile gas block, troy folding front sight are the three primaries).

For now, the SP-01 is in the lead, and since it's not too expensive I might be able to sooner swing for the Iron-dot, P6, A new Storm/Pelican case or two, or maybe even an XD.

Even if I were to sell/trade you the MP5, it will forever have my name engraved upon it, as required by federal law.
So nana-nana-boo-boo biggrin

Hmm, PDW would be my first choice, but seeing as you already have an MP5, I'd go for either the USP or XD-9.

Re: Firearms Thread - decision street (UPDATE PAGE 4! Range Report)

I should also mention that one of my primary reasons for wanting the MP5k/SP-89 SBR would be to host a suppressor, which would be even MORE money, paperwork, calling the ATF, and waiting.

Then again, a threaded Bar-Sto barrel for the other 9x19mms could host the same suppressor banana

300 for a German P6?  Heck, I'd pick one up for that.  My friend has a Springfield MC Operator and he really likes it.

Cheers

Folding stock just happened to be in the picture I pulled off of GIS for the Saiga. The B&T stock on the MP5k kicks ass, and there aren't many other options. No adverse affect on accuracy (quite the contrary. Locks extremely tight and gives a good cheek-weld).

Re: Firearms Thread - decision street (UPDATE PAGE 4! Range Report)

The P7 shoots beautifully - minimal recoil for the cartridge and extremely accurate.  The M13 grip feels like a 2x4 though, so unless you've got really big paws, the M8 will probably feel better.  I'd love to get an HK45 or HK45C, but they are not on the approved list here.  The P2000 is, but not the HK45 or the P30.  Probably won't be any time soon, either.

Half that stuff is unavailable in the People's Republic of California.  For all the stuff I can't even consider, I'm jealous.

Edit:
Just have to say, this weekend I broke in the barrel of my brand new DPMS AP4 308.  50 rounds with a good copper solvent cleaning of the barrel after EACH round then another 50 rounds with cleaning every 10 rounds.  I started at 1045 and finished at 2000.  I have never had shooting feel like such a chore smile

I dusted off my old H&K SL7 and took it out Saturday.  No chore there.  I'm never going to let that one go.  Even the rangemaster came over to ogle it.  Back when my eyesight was sharp enough, I could get 8/10 in 1.5" at 100 yds. with the iron sights.  It's time for either distance glasses or a scope :-(

i will say that after living in georgia for a few years, there is a hell of a lot of blatant racists down there... you'd think for a state that was 35% minorities they would keep their mouths shut but nope

Re: Firearms Thread - decision street (UPDATE PAGE 4! Range Report)

Our state symbol is the firehose. There are indeed a lot of blatant racists, on both sides of the field.
We open doors for women down here.

Right before we beat them star

Ironically, we have some pretty shitty concealed carry provisions.

Aggie--if your AP4 has a chrome-lined bbl, I'm sorry to say but you just wasted your time wink I also feel the same if the barrel was stainless, though.

SL7s are pretty sweet, and somewhat goofy but in an awesome way. HK91 is a bit more my style, though. I debated buying a PTR-91 for quite some time, but the price of .308 is overwhelming.

Re: Firearms Thread - decision street (UPDATE PAGE 4! Range Report)

You forgot the Sig P228. Very accurate and reliable as a carry sidearm.

And are you srsly going to drop $300 on a red dot for an AK? I would think that money is better spent on a rifle with some refinement.

If anything use that money to pay the transfer fees so you can get a class III stamp from the ATF. Then you can buy some real fun toys.

Re: Firearms Thread - decision street (UPDATE PAGE 4! Range Report)

MP5 is title II.
I have the NFA branch of the ATF, and a couple other ATF branches in my phonebook lol

I carry a P226 daily. I can conceal it well, so I have no need to shorten the bbl length.

The AK needs lovin' too. It gets jealous, in all her red anger.
