Re: Spring suggestions?

I would venture a guess that since the Prodrive setup is non-wagon-specific, you may eventually end up with some "saggy butt syndrome" when the springs settle. The Prodrive springs are actually manufactured by Eibach, so it's not like you're looking at a huge difference in quality between the Pro-Kit and the Prodrive setups. I personally would probably go with the Pro-Kit wagon-specific setup, because it will probably end up providing a more even drop and will still work well with the stock struts. Does anyone know for sure if our struts can handle the Pro-Kit springs?

Re: Spring suggestions?

From what I've seen on nasioc the wagons with the Eibach springs tend to have saggy butt syndrome...I believe some even had the wagon specific springs on them.  If I remember correctly, they haven't even released the wagon specific springs for '04+ yet, but I could be wrong.

Edit:  Just checked Eibach's site and it looks like they might be out now.  I read a few weeks ago on nasioc that they weren't out yet.  Sorry for the mis-info.

Re: Spring suggestions?

FYI & FWIW only -

We have not found any springs so far that we feel will make a viable and valuable improvement to the car.  Still lookin.'

In Chris's opinion (accent on the word opinion if you like) your first and best suspension mod should be sway bars.

That's our .02 for the day.

Re: Spring suggestions?

Would some one PLSSSSS buy the Eibach Springs Wagon Specific!

I'm curious of whether it's already out or still prototype..

Don't get GF210, it will KILL your struts for sure.
That thing is slightly stiffer than JDM Pinks on STi... (GF210 is what I use)
Nice springs for the price.

Re: Spring suggestions?

We are awaiting our first shipment of the new Cobb springs.  At this time we think they are going to be the answer (especially if you want drop in addition to improved handling) but we don't want to post any data until we get the springs in our shop and can give them a good look.

Stay tuned....

Re: Spring suggestions?

Dumb question:

Are there cobb wagon specific ones or are they all the same?

Tell us if they will work with the stock struts too trace. thanks.

Re: Spring suggestions?

2" drop will kill stock struts in no time.

You might want to wait for a review from someone who actually owns one.
I'll get see if Arnie can chime in.

Re: Spring suggestions?

Hi,

The prodrive and STi pink springs have pretty much the same rates...

ProDrive (Lb/In) F: 215  R: 195
STi Pink (wagon) F: 223  R: 195

For reference...
Stock (2002 wgn) F: 163  R: 132
Eibach (wgn)       F: 171  R: 160

These numbers are from
http://www.ravensblade-impreza.com/tech … pring.html
so I can't vouch for their accuracy.  That said, I'd bet they are fairly accurate. Given the nature of the internet, someone out there would have corrected him (her?) long ago, otherwise.

My $$$ is on the STi pink, I doubt the Eibach would make a huge difference (other than lowering), and I am in VT and want to lower/stiffen, but not too low (or I become a snow plow ;-).
