We've had the driving shoe thread that sort of turned in to more of just a favorite shoe thread...
We all know that all Eurospek buys is Puma.
Whateverland really likes Saucony.
Topher prefers Kenneth Cole, etc.
What was the last pair of shoes you bought?
I got this Justin80 approved pair for my last set:

Those are nice.
I have a pair of nice Sperry boat shoes. They're hot (preppy).

Do you have ties with little horsies on them?
Doesn't that clash with your emo lifestyle?

The only time I wear ties is when I go to an important meeting. Otherwise, I'm business casual.

"100% organic hemp upper"
"produced by Vegetarian Shoes"
Buncha tofu fartin' hippies....BUT no corporate influences here, right?
"made in a union shop"
My ass.
$58.50 + 13.00 shipping, and I'm helping stop Nike, by helping unionized hippies? I don't get the upside here, and I can buy Converse Chuck Taylors for $20 less.
PLEASE......

Chuck Taylors will always be cool, but they're not really a very good shoe. Worth the price though. I usually go to Big 5 sproting goods and see what's on super-sale.

No more Pumas for me for a while, they are a bitch to stand in all day at work, their sole is like standing on rocks, already started downsizing the collection, and duked out two pairs on ebay with a little profit, only 2 pairs left in the closet which I'm keeping and they are the famous white ones with the no socks pic.
New shoes for work and whatnot : Adidas ZX 750
Offline
for work I wear my old military black desert combat boots. Driving and riding my mountain bike...I wear Vans. I've had the same pair of Vans for 3 years now and spent 40 bucks for them. there still in great condition with little to no wear on them.
Offline
Last ones I bought were the 2006 Nike Air Max which I posted here a few months ago.
Offline
New Balance M574's in blue -- classic comfy nerd-sneaker.
And a pair of Gola Chase in black and orange.
Offline
Nike 360. But I need a new pair of Dansko.

Despite what Justin and Jim say - about hippies and unions - it's a very well made shoe.
You can go ahead and support sweatshop labor and buy Chucks (now owned by Nike & no longer made in America) - they'll last you a few months.
or
You can support fair trade and workers who are paid well and work in good conditions and buy Blackspots -- they'll last you about ten times as long as a pair of Chucks.
Hmmm... and for the record - only about 40% of the shop is unionized, because the other 60% are happy enough with their situation that they don't see the point in joining the union. They get an hour and a half for lunch every day, the factory is quiet and clean and they all make about 150 % of Portugal's minimum wage.
Now... kindly go stick your heads back up your asses, Justin and Jim. I'm going for a walk in my ethical shoes.
