AccessPort connections

When hooking up an Accessport to change the real time map, do you have to do the complete steps of hooking up the test connectors, plugging in the initialization connector, and then plug in in the diagport cable?  Or is just doing the diagport cable enough for real time map changes?  The PDF manual I looked at on Cobb's site isn't really clear on this.  If you have to do all three steps it seems like using some of the real time utility maps like valet mode, anti-theft, etc. would be more trouble than it's worth.

Re: AccessPort connections

You only need to plug in the testmode connector if you are installing or uninstalling the AccessPORT the first time, or if you are switching the base map. If you just want to switch realtime maps, you don't need to plug it in.

Re: AccessPort connections

Nope, just one cable, turn the key to on and tell it to load the RT map.

Re: AccessPort connections

Thanks for the info!  The manual says this "KEEP the supplied Initialization Connector in a safe place; you will need it for future AccessPORT operations" after the initial installation steps which made it sound kind of like you'd need to use the initialization connector for all changes.
