The outside molding below my driver's door is bowing out. When I got the car, it appeared someone had tried to jack up the car (or driven over something), and the middle "clip" inside it snapped /broke (I can pull out the molding and see inside it, though I don't want to pull it too much, as each end is still firmly secured).
It is getting worse (as in, the gap keeps widening). I glooped some 3M trim glue over the clip area and pressed the molding in overnight (I made a small tower of old rotors with cardboard to "lean" on the molding and keep it pressed). The glue didn't seem to take, and while the gap is reduced, it didn't hold tightly (there's still a gap). it's slowly starting to open again. Can anyone suggest a solution to fix it (beyond finding a new molding piece)?

take the sideskirt off completely, and then reinstall it, replacing any broken clips
here are the saab part numbers: https://www.esaabparts.com/viewparts.ph … =784496018
subaru part numbers: https://parts.subaru.com/a/Subaru_2006_ … 21-05.html
(oddly no idea why there is no diagram for that, but the numbers on the saab picture should correspond to the first numbers on the subaru page)
its probably these: https://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru_2006_ … 30088.html
they slide into a mount on the sideskirt and click into the body. you wouldn't likely be able to get them re-seated in the skirt mount if you didn't have the whole skirt off to do it.
if you break the mount off the skirt... well that sucks. might be able to JB weld it back on

Thans - I think it is the mount that's broken off (I'll look again). Any idea how to take the sideskirt off without breaking more of them (does it just "pull" up/off)?

take all the external clips off on the ends and the bottom and slowly pop the clips off the body. it does not go up or down, it would come straight out away from the body
