Led headlight upgrade suggestions??

Hello I have a 2006 92x aero with halogen headlights and I'm wanting to upgrade to led but I can't seem to find led lights that will fit in the stock headlight, does anyone know of a good brand that will fit nicely too?

Better to just get real nice halogen bulbs for your existing lights.

If you wanta be real cool like me, you could get LED bulbs for the turn signal indicator light - no more amber reflection in the housing  cool The rest of my bulbs are standard

Re: Led headlight upgrade suggestions??

If you want to "upgrade" because you like how they look, you can find HID bulbs at any audio/electronic shop for like $50 or so depending on quality and area. However, these will not be optimized for your assembly as the way your assembly reflects light is for halogen bulbs and the way the HID bulbs reflect light is different. It's also not legal, but you'll likely never get in trouble.

If you want to "upgrade" because you want more functional lights, I would recommend looking into something like the Phillips or Narva +25 or +50 bulbs. They provide more light output at the cost of bulb life. These are still halogen bulbs and still have the look of halogen bulbs though. The other two options are to pick up OEM HID assemblies, which are hard to come by and quite expensive, or to do what is called a retrofit where you install some projectors into the stock halogen assembly. This is actually the best way to increase light output and would cost you about the same as OEM HIDs with much higher quality light.

For your high beam bulbs, look into 9011 HIR bulbs. They provide a much higher light output with no modification required to your headlight assembly.

Just a cam and a tune.

Re: Led headlight upgrade suggestions??

The led bulbs on the market these days are designed to work properly with the Halogen housings and reflect light in the manner that the halogen housings are designed.   Hikari has excellent led bulbs for the low beam H1 and high beam 9005/HB3.  Hikari has LED bulbs they call the "Eyes of Megatron",  they use the Z ES led chips and aviation aluminum body.  I really like them and you buy them on Amazon.

Thanks for posting this.  I had tried some others last year but the backend, wire etc. were too big for the cap to fit.  It’s good to see a recommendation for some that will fit.
