What should I do, what should I do to my 06 92x aero?

sooo...

I posted this for sale, but the offers I had been getting had not really been worth it for me to sell.  I love the car...

But I just bought a 2015 STI launch edition.

the 06 is a 4eat.  Unfortunately...

It has not been driven in a while, and has some codes being thrown with the fuel sensor(low fuel for a while as it hasn't been driven).

Considering I was only thinking bout getting $3k for the car... and noticing they're selling for a lot more with much higher mileage I was thinking about putting a hefty amount of mods in to make it kewler...

it's 76k miles on it right now. and has a turbo back on it.

So I'm thinking making it more off road worthy.  transmission swap for manual(or is there another choice for more funs?).  new intake,  replace the turboback with an aftermarket high flow cat back, new swaybars,  off road wheels/tires, skid plates, brush guard.  Improving the suspension for better offroad handling.  I kind of want to make this a fun offroad beast.

any ideas?  Right now it's just  gathering dust and crap at my folks' place.

hmmmmmm  confused   facepalm

...this is so i keep my sti more stock/safe haha.

If you want to maximize what you can get and sell it, just do the maintenance to clear the codes and anything else it might need to make it a solid daily and don’t modify it.  A buyer will want it as clean as possible so they choose to either enjoy as-is or modify it the way they want it, knowing it hasn’t been abused.  It’s low miles, but timing belt is coming due soon, past due on age, if it hasn’t been done yet, and of course inspect the rear strut towers.

You won’t get back what you put into it with mods.  Modify it only if you plan on driving and enjoying it.

Just my opinion of course.

Yup, I'm not sure i'm all about resale.  I feel if i'm going in there, might as well go all in.  I thought it's 100k for timing belt ? or 80k?

Manual swap to a 5 or 6sp?  A 6sp will be big bucks (more than the car is worth) but if you plan for big power upgrades it might be the better choice.  I've put so much into my 9-2x I know I'll never get it back.  About the only way I would sell it is if I can't store it and I find a great deal on a used RS6 wagon (current gen, so several years from that choice).

Its 100K or 10 years for the timing belt, so you are long overdue if it hasn't been changed since new.
