My car has been out of commission for the better part of a year. Last year, I thought my clutch was failing. When it was brought in to a shop to replace the clutch, it was found that the throwout bearing had seized and damaged the housing snout. Off to a transmission shop it went for half-case replacement, bearing kit, and the clutch. After the work was done, the trans lost all its fluid from a bad seal, which damaged the front diff. Back into the shop it went for a rebuild, new bearing kit, and new front diff. This whole process took over three months, as there was much fighting between myself and the shop (the initial tech tried to convince me that depriving the transmission housing of fluid couldn't have damaged the diff, even though they're in the same housing. After a senior tech got involved, fault was accepted and resolution was then underway.) After that was resolved, and I got my car back, the overheating issues increased, and failing head-gaskets were discovered. Into another shop it went at the end of February. The shop has the heads machined when doing a HG job, so once they pulled the engine, off to a machine shop the parts went. The shop finished the work on a Monday, and the state closed for Covid-19 on the next Tuesday. This meant that my engineless car was left sitting at the open auto shop, and the completed heads were sitting at a closed machine shop. After 3 months of being held captive, the machine shop reopened, the engine was reassembled, and the car is now running beautifully. Once I got it back, it went in for a state inspection and emissions (which had expired during the downtime at the shop), and it was discovered that I was exempt from emissions this year due to not having clocked 5k miles in the previous 12 months. Upon investigation, I found that I didn't even drive 1,500mi. Kind of goes to show how little I had the car. After that, it received a full detail, as it had been in dire need of one, and didn't get its spring season cleaning this year. Last stop was to the local Chevy dealership to get the second airbag recall completed. When I went to pick it up, there was a little note that made my day.
It's been a long time since I've shared pics, and I know that it's the same car we're all used to seeing, but I still find it to be slick. Still puts a smile on my face, which is pretty necessary considering our current existence. Hope you're all doing well, and finding your own reasons to smile.

Car looks great, I would have been super frustrated with parts being stuck at the machine shop. You can get a $50 gift card from Chevy for getting the airbag recall done.

They are MSR Style 045 in Hyperblack. 18x8 ET35. They clear my STI Brembos.

Thanks, guys. Appreciate that considering how many you've seen over the years.
I've been thinking for a while about possibly letting it go. Good to know that there could be some interest onceI gather and list all of the parts and upgrades.

I call first dibs when you decide to sell! I was just looking through your Imgur folder for this car. Love it. Everything is done well and kept very clean!

Just stopped typing it. It's been part of my representation on forums for 20yr, but I didn't want to annoy OPs with response notifications when people we joke-posting it in response. Figured it was a nuisance.

You got it. I'll let you know. I've been thinking about it for a while now, and I'm at the point where I'm apprehensive to drive it normally for fear or someone hitting me and ruining it. It's the first car that I've 'finished', so I'm quite protective of it.

I'm not normally a red car fan, but damn does this one wear that color well. I've been searching across the country for a nice 9-2x but have yet to find one (the black on BaT was nice but I don't like black).
