Reading through the entire thread, this is confirmed at least 4 times, twice by myself (counting this post).

So, does this discussion about the chassis being EXACTLY the same include the radiator support and headlight housings? I'm pretty sure those are different, due to the cosmetic change, though I haven't compared them with all the fascia removed.
(I'm asking because I need to do some structural repairs to the nose on my 92x, and WRX steel is much easier to get hold of.)

headlight housings are most definitely Saab unique. The upper core support...dunno.

They are definitely different between the 9-2x and the Impreza. However, since they are bolt-on parts, they are not considered part of the unibody (a.k.a. chassis).

great list

So random question are the rear fenders from the impreza interchangeable? My wife just got hit by a motorcyclist today... and his handlebar left a good little mark...

Yep

I'm replacing the headlight switch on my 2005 9-2x Linear. It looks like it's the same as 05 Subaru Impreza/Outback. Can someone confirm this for me? Naturally, no Saab part numbers seem to exist for the switch.

Headlight switch? The fog lights (your wouldn't have those on the Linear right) have a switch, the headlights are control on a steering column stalk. 99.99% positive that would be identical to a Subaru part. Contact your nearest Subaru dealership parts department?

Yep, the headlight, dimmer, and turn signal combo switch on the column. My Linear actually has fog lights, but I'm starting to think it's an odd one-off model, because its badges should be 06 but the sticker indicates it's definitely an 05 car. Anyway, much thanks!

I know this is an old post but im trying to get some info on interchange parts with Subaru. I recently bought a rebuilt title 2005 Aero and it has some issues with the front. Mostly, it has a cracked front bumper as well as cracked hood scoop insert. I talked to my local Saab Distributor and they have a bumper cover in stock, but said that the hood scoop is discontinued. What I'm wondering is whether another Subaru shares the hood scoop, or just the plastic insert.
Hood scoops that look similar:
2005-09 Legacy GT hood scoop
2009ish WRX hood scoop
Additionally I'm wondering on the interchange for fog lights. My car is wired for them, but i don't have them.
Thanks!

Search bar is your friend here. I believe they said the Prius uses the same fog lights

The hood scoop is definitely NLA (no longer available). You will need to find a used one, there are some part-outs going on now on the forum that might have one. Check the for sale section.
No other hood scoop will work, the one on the 9-2x Aero is unique to the car.

In the very first post on this thread it is mentioned that a security system is included on the 92x that is not on the Impreza. Is there anywhere a description of this security system, what it does, how/when is it activated and any methods for "clearing" it? I suspect my system has "activated" and locked out the starter and ignition circuits. So can't start the car.

The only alarm you have is one that detects doors open using the inside handle (glass broken) when locked and if you have the shock sensor installed it will go off after a big bump. Neither will prevent the car from starting. Only 06+ have an immobilizer installed.

I just finished replacing the head gaskets on my 05 92x liner with the engine out of the car. Once back in it won't energize the starter (works fine with remote starter) and there is no spark. So have to wonder what is going on as all electrical "stuff" works except starter and ignition that's why I suspected an immobilizer.

Turns out problem was a connector not fully seated. Suspect the secondary main harness connector

Hi, I need to replace my rear bumper cover on a 2005 wagon. Is there a wrx cover that is compatible? If so, what year? Thank you.

From the only rating given, it doesn't seem like it even fits a Subaru

The model (WRX) and model year are correct for proper fitment.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I just got 2 keys made for my '05 Aero. Took some convincing on my part and a willingness to accept the cost of possible failure, but I ended up with 2 keys that worked fine from the local locksmith, for around $10usd. I'm sure that this was covered in the past, but wanted to share my recent experience. Plain metal keys. My car came with only one key; not acceptable in the long run.
I tipped the young man at the locksmith business who was willing to help $10usd and thanked him.
I really like bacon; thought I'd share that as well while I was on.
