Hey yall,
I am looking to replace the front badge on my brand new to me unicorn I have looked at a few options and just don't know which ones are best. I would prefer an actual badge vs just a sticker but if there are any stickers that are good quality and won't wear like a sticker, I would be open to that. I am looking for a normal badge or maybe a Scadia one, but I would be open to a variation if is still has the striking colors and the lion.
Thanks!

The "real" ones are a little tough to find and you are right to avoid the stickers. There are some gel ones (search eBay), which is essentially a sticker but with a rounded gel layer to give it some depth, that look okay and should last a few years. They aren't great, but are okay. Diameter 63.5mm front and rear.

Be weary of the gel "badge" stickers, I had installed one on the front this past summer and it's already starting to peel up around the edge. I hear that people have good luck with the badges from FocusLima on eBay.
You can order new OEM badges from any of the multiple "Euro" parts websites, which is what I did last year. I ordered mine from EEuroparts.com, the SKU #'s are 12769690 for the rear and 12844161 for the front. $64 later they were at my doorstep in three days.
To remove the old emblems; I used a heat gun, fishing line, and a microfiber towel with some isopropyl alcohol to remove the leftover adhesive. It probably took me twenty minutes or so to remove and replace the old emblem. Probably would've gone quicker if I wouldn't have cheaped out on my fishing line.

Just noticed my front badge flaked off, 3/4 of it is gone. I think it was a free one I got from esaabparts, nothing like real oem that lasted almost 8 years. I only got 3 years out of the freebie, I guess beggars shouldn’t complain. I think I’ll just get another one from esaabparts and see how it goes.

My gel badges of the Swedish rally pig have held up several years (many outdoors). I got mine originally from a seller here, but hopefully some of the ebay ones are also as good. You don't want an OEM badge. The badge was the only part that Saab contributed to the car... and it will have all the paint peeling off it within the year leaving you with a plain silver disc.

3 or 4 years ago my originals got stripped at handwash by the guys using an air hose to dry the body (it was only after the second one that I realized the correlation in events). I got 2 replacements at bbsaab.com for about $50 each. The old ones are a complete PITA to remove.

I’ll try a cheap one from eBay, see how long it’ll last.

The seller of the gel badges was known as Nelly, and his email was [email protected] He last posted in 2015. Don't know if he could hook you up.
I bought the gels in 2014, and they are still going strong.

How have those replacements from bbsaab.com treated you? are they still going strong?

They're OEM as far as I know and still look as good as new.
