Well, the air volume measurement with the MAF is done assuming a stock intake diameter. Adding nearly 30mm of diameter for a significant portion of the intake tract really throws it for a loop. in a 0-5v reference, it would nearly be maxed out well before redline, and it leans out too much. There are 'no tune required' intakes, but they don't add power over the stock airbox.
The tune adds fuel, changes cam timing (intake and exhaust) and adjusts the MAF scaling to account for the intake. More fuel + more air = more power.

That is a good lookin' car. How much of a difference in dry grip are you seeing with the GMAX tires? I'll be interested to hear how you like them in a year or so as well - I've read that after they wear in a while they get a lot louder, but who knows what some random idiot who wrote that on TireRack.com did to them.

Your cycad doesn't look too good. Either a nutrient deficiency or too much water.

@dotmaster: the GMAX tires are already kind of loud, but so is the car. Not a big deal.
@sabroo - it’s a Lowes clearance rack special. It already has a dozen new fronds coming out of the middle, despite the yellow color.

Nice! Mustangs are very touchy with mods it seems.
And before 2015, staying on the road was a little touchy too.

The last one I had was a 'special' from Home Depot!
Sadly, it developed some kind of crown rot that I couldn't cure.
