I bought a new trans, what should I do while it's off?

I bought a used manual trans for my linear. What seals and misc. stuff should I do while it's off?

Clutch at least.  Be sure to check all the axle boots too.  I'm sure there's more that it would be prudent to check, but that's what comes to mind immediately.

Agreed. Clutch and throw-out bearing, inspect the flywheel, clean off dirt and grime around the bell housing, grease up fork and other joints/rotation points. Check the rear main seal of the motor to see if it's leaking.

Also a good time to check/replace the rubber on the trans mount. There are group N ones available that are a bit stiffer.

Want to never worry about it again?

- Resurfaced flywheel
- Pilot bearing
- Throw out bearing
- rear main seal
- Axle seals
- transmission rear output seal
- Slave cylinder
- Fresh fluid change

Basically, this is every seal and consumable on the 5MT.
