So I'm back in my Aero as my daily driver again. Was driving an 2017 M3 the past 18 months (long story as to how/why I had that and I LOVED IT), but the lease is up on that and right now I want to save my money and likely get the Golf MK8 when it comes out.
Either way. I want to drop $2-3k into my Aero but want to know what you would do if it was your car and you had to spend the money on it to spice it up.
Some quick specks to give you some perspective of where I'm currently at. 2005 Aero with $178k miles, Stage II clutch (according to previous owner). Did the timing belt two years, 3k miles ago, steering pump, brake rotor and pads, short shift, and Eibach lowering springs.

Buy stock instead, while it's on sale.
If you really want to spend money on your car, with 178k miles, look at reliability mods first. Start here: https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showth … ?t=2740715

So you think going Cobb Stage 1+ and an exhaust would be a bad idea? Was also thinking of stitching out to some Koni yellow struts.
What do you mean by "Buy stock while it's on sale"?
Edit: Never mind, you mean stock market stocks. I'm more than covered there. Plus, the market will more than likely drop at least another 20% before this is all over. It's not time to buy just yet.
No, I have extra cash I want to play with, but I want it to count if I'm going to play with it on the car since this is my DD for the next 6+ months. (Unless car market completely collapses which also wouldn't be too surprising).

.
Really... Start here: https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showth … ?t=2740715
In particular, your turbo inlet is probably mush by now if it's stock. And your MAF has almost certainly seen better days.
And then look seriously at replacing all the vacuum hoses.
Possibly new coil packs.
Then endlinks, because the bushings in your stock ones are probably trashed well before 178k.
Struts and springs are probably a good idea.
When was the last time the fluids were changed?
With that done, Stage 1+ is a solid choice.

Thanks! I need to go through everything I fixed 2 years ago in more details, but most of that was on the list. All fluids have been changed, I think most of the hoses as well, and endlinks.
I'll do the Turbo inlet, and MAF for sure. Will check out that link in more detail as well.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll post some updates along the way.
