STI seats

I am thinking about replacing the seats in my 2006 Saab Aero 92X with seats from a Subaru STI . Does anyone have any experience in this swap out? Do I need to find seats from an STI that are of the same year as my Saab?

Re: STI seats

06-07 STi would be a simple swap. 04-05 you’ll have dismantle the seats and swap airbag related components.

2005 satin gray metalic aero, sold. 06 wrx, adios!
2005 black aero, rescue project, jdm EJ205 avcs.
2005 desert silver aero, traded.
2002 bugeye, sedan, JDM STi ver 7 swapped.

Re: STI seats

^ correct.
you are limited to 06-07 fronts due to airbag and passenger detection.
rears you can use any 02-07 impreza
if you want leather, the only option is 06-07 wrx limited, they came in tan or black
if you want cloth, you could do 06-07 STi fronts, but there are no matching black/blue rears (well JDM STi wagon ones which are impossible to find)
or for cloth there is 06-07 wrx black/grey but those look terrible in my opnion
