Performance/Race Seats haveigt

Hello, I am in the market for performance seating for my Saab 92 Aero. I participate in track days and autocross and the stock seats are not exactly the most optimal for that use. I reviewed all sorts of seats online and the price difference is quite broad. Does anyone have any advice for me in this area? The unfortunate fact is all of my options seem to be online and there really isn't any retailers that I can visit to Try the seats out.

Re: Performance/Race Seats haveigt

Buying online without sitting in a seat is like buying shoes from a new brand, they probably aren't going to fit properly. If you can hit some local car meets or track events and try some of the seats people have. I am interested in hearing what people recommend, I've kept my stock seats because I like the side airbag and I find them very comfortable. But they are not harness and HANS friendly.

I have been in a lot of race cars with race seats, but far fewer street cars with race seats, aside from the 911 GT3.

Where do you live?

Re: Performance/Race Seats haveigt

if you're really wanting a seat to do track days in, you should really stick to a fixed-back seat. swap it out for a stock seat if you want for dd-ing it.

yes you need to sit in them. i flew out to ogracing for a day just to sit in seats, and try on safety gear - it was going to be quicker and cheaper for me to do that than paying shipping for buying a bunch of stuff i'd have to return.

DO RESEARCH.
