Clicking sound when decelling to a stop around 5/10 mph

Hi, I am a new proud user of a 2005 Linear with automatic transmission (coming from Europe I have stick shifted enough in my life) Love the car and how it drives, but I since yesterday a click when  decelling to low speeds 15-5 mph. It irritates me, but it is not a loud click. I comes from right below the shifter. Should get worried?

this is issue, posted in an earlier post.

Listening to my car today, I noticed that I get a click when decelerating, at around 20mph to a stop.  I'm not too sure if it has anything to do with the brakes or not.  confused
i also get this decelerating click...except it occurs at under 10mph as the car is coming to a stop.

Hey Dutcho, no need for the duplicate post to both these forums - I'd recommend deleting this one and keeping the one in troubleshooting/problems. The forum is pretty lightly trafficed so its not like each individual forum has different traffic. Everyone sees both posts.

Welcome to the forum though  embeer

Re: Clicking sound when decelling to a stop around 5/10 mph

Hi Dutcho,
I have driven a 2006 Linear with automatic trans for close to 10 years and have heard this clicking noise all of that time.

It's made by a solenoid that's disengaging a mechanical device that precludes you from putting the car in reverse at hight speed. I could not hear it being activated, only when being deactivated at very low speed.

Don't worry about it. Enjoy the car.
Mine is now my daughter's pride and joy and still going strong. driving
Cheers.
