Ha, same with my car.  It is nice not worrying about speed bumps though.

That and not worrying about the crazy California pot holes. I'd say stock suspension is probably better suited/ faster than stiff coilovers on most of the canyon roads I've been on.

Honestly PCH is a road that is more enjoyed at slow speeds wether you want to or not (a fair amount of RV/ tourist traffic). It is an absolutely gorgeous stretch of road though with lots of cool bunkers etc along the way. You're going to love that trip, just don't be expecting SoCal warm water.

That's what I figured.  It's just gonna be my wife and I.  We are going to San Francisco for a few days, then Monterey and Big Sur for a couple, and then finish with Yosemite for a few more days. Think its actually colder by you then here in Indiana.

Sounds awesome. Where are you going in Yosemite? Best advice would be to avoid the valley as it's always a zoo of tourists.

Staying in Half Dome Village, in the tents.  We're probably gonna be touristy since we only have a week for everything.

While you're in Monterey you have to drive over the hill into Carmel! Very cool little town to walk around in with some good restaurants and they have a beautiful beach. It's where I proposed to Jess  heart #basic

I don't have to worry about *most* speed bumps at my height. There's the occasional gigantic bump and sloped driveway I have to be careful about but for the most part I can still go straight over. BUT the occasional California pot holes (like... for example those found on Mosquito Ridge Rd) are quite painful and concerning.  lol

Re: Sohlman's 2015 WRX

Good ol Subaru reliability strikes again. This morning I got a check engine light and diagnostic code P000B cam position sensor (a recurring problem with FAs and the second time for my car) and my throwout bearing has begun to squeak (a common issue with WRXs since 2006). All this on top of 60,000 mile service is going to be a hefty bill. Thanks Subaru!  heart heart

You should sell it and get a Chevy Bolt while the tax credit still exists  spider

Sucks! I'm going to be taking in Jess's Forester to have the 60k service done soon - no other issues with her car apart from having to replace tires recently though.

Re: Sohlman's 2015 WRX

I just don't understand what Subaru is thinking. These are issues Subaru is well aware of especially the throw out bearing issue that has been going on since '06. How do they just keep replacing and replacing these parts under warranty and not come up with a fix. Now that my warranty is up I'm fucked. It just seems like they choose to skimp on the stupidest little things that end up costing their customers big money. For this reason I don't see myself getting another Subaru in the future which is sad because I love the way my car drives and how practical/ non ostentatious it is for the most part.'

edit: oh btw this is the second clutch replacement for the car first one done at 350 miles. Bet you can't guess the reason the first clutch was replaced.
