Re: So now that my Saabaru has been retired

Safelite must have kind of racket going on in our area.
My wife was driving to work last week and took a hit to the windshield.  The next day it turned into a crack.  Luckily we didn’t get it repaired yet because she was driving to work today and got hit by another object and got a crack in the opposite side.
I watched the dashcam video from the first one and you could see a roundish shaped object that looks like it’s falling from the sky.  It’s completely unclear where the hell it comes from.  I was hoping to show it come off the tractor trailer that was in front of her.

Holy shit that is crazy. But it reminds me of a story a guy was telling me over the weekend. In the middle of a snow storm a kid loses control around a corner and totals this guys parked truck. The wife calls the husband, tells him truck was hit, he leaves to come home and deal with it, truck ends up being totaled. After the police leave, the guy heads back to work. A few blocks down the street a car is coming at him out of control, hits him and pushes the car into another car and telephone pole. The guy had to call his insurance company and tell them both of his cars were totaled within an hour of each other.

Working for in auto claims, this kind of shit is crazy, but definitely happens.
Did you happen to watch your dash cam footage of your rock strike?  I watched both of my wife's and in both it looks like the object falls from the sky.  Although it's probably just the weird perspective of the camera.  If I hadn't put a dash cam in her car, I'd be accusing her of tailgating, which I have seen her do.

I haven't installed it yet. I ordered the mini fuse adapter but ordered one with a mini usb connector and my camera takes a micro usb.

In some cases things are literally falling from the sky, well, not the sky exactly, but from the shitting crumbling concrete bridges.

Oh, I'm sure.  In this case she was nowhere near an overpass though.

Re: So now that my Saabaru has been retired

The windshield was cracked at 2600 miles I finally had it replaced last week at 10K miles. I did make sure they replaced it with Ford glass and not aftermarket cheap shit.

I procrastinated a bit. But at least I got it done before Winter. Now I need to order the correct fuse adapter and install the dashcam
