Woke up super early this morning so figured I'd go get some pictures of Sacramento's Yolo Bypass flood system at sunrise. I neglected to remember my camera was only at 5% so I only got a couple pictures in and they're not my best. Still a really pretty setting and I may go back this time with battery before the waters go down at some point this week. Here's the pics with no post processing. Oh and yeah I know the focus is shit, part of only getting 3 quick pictures in

I went and saw the eclipse from up in Idaho, and figured I'd share some pics.

I have a ton more....but this is enough.  It was so awesome!

Thanks fellas.  I bet that was incredible to see from a beach JM......and I agree, definitely one of the coolest things I've ever seen.  I've come across a couple incredible pictures that people have taken, and none of them even remotely come close to the actual experience.

We were in the forest northeast of Ola, Idaho.  It was the middle of nowhere:




We took an RV from SF, hung out in the forest, then came back afterward.  Next time I'm that way we'll have to have a few beers.

last one is Delta 3200 film I processed myself. I believe the old fixer is the source of the LSD-esque 1960s background milky streaky bubbles.

I dig it, but I'd like to 'control' the process and verify my chemical theory.

Thanks.  I took the pictures with a 5D Mark II and a 235mm aperture/2,350mm focal length telescope. This is a cropped picture of the setup:



The 5D is hanging off the back to the left.

It's weird....every photo I have posted on this (and other sites) is in my google account, and they all load fine, except this last post.  Let me keep monkeying with it, I think I'm screwing up the URL somehow.

Very nice. Don't be a afraid of prime lenses. The "Nifty Fifty" aka "Fantastic Plastic" (50mm 1.8) can be picked up real cheap and is a great lens. I've also been really happy with Sigma lenses for my Canon. And if you want to get real artsy for little money, get a Canon FD lens adapter and you can find nice cheap Canon FD lenses on Ebay.
