Hi, I live in Austin Texas. I have been searching Craigslist for a beater car with a little style to replace my 254k Focus which will go to my soon to be 16 y.o. I had narrowed the search down to a Volvo V40, V70 or a Subaru Outback. Then I happened to remember that Saab had dipped it's foot in the premium compact market a few years ago. To that point, I came across a 2005 Linear with auto and 173k on the clock for less than 6 months payments on a new car. I prefer a manual, but my commute involves going downtown from the suburbs, so it's 15 miles of first gear to second gear and back o first gear. Plus, the car had had about receipts for about $2500 worth of maintenance, (axles, radiator, tires, TB, A/C work, etc.) in the last few months, so I figure in a way I got the car for the price of maintenance. It needs some work, mostly dents and dings and a broken grille, but it seems solid enough underneath. I figure if it lasts even a couple of years I'm way ahead of the game! We tend to keep our cars, so I'm in it for the long term.

With basic maintenance that car will last forever. Welcome.

It's a 2001 Focus ZTS. Bought it in 2002 off lease with 20k miles. Still on original engine and clutch with only regular maintenance. No failures and still a daily driver. They are tough little cars.
For the 9-2 I plan on a sympathetic restoration of worn items, maybe try to stockpile some of the rarer bits while they are still out there. The interior is good, just a little dirty, seats are stained due to toddlers. so I'll break out the Dawn and scrub brushes. Exterior has some parking by Braille issues but nothing a new fender or a good hammer can't fix.
