Goddamn I want an RS 

Really like the brakes on the RS.  I knew the brakes on the Saabaru are horrible, but driving an RS for a bit, then going home in the Saab is depressing.

The power felt really measured - maybe I wasn't tipping in far enough for the car to really react, but I was left feeling like something more should have happened.  I think this is usually just the difference between the relatively big hit when the boost comes on in older turbo cars vs. how Ford is turning their ecoboost engines to feel so flat torque wise.

Or the two other people in the car aside from me.  I suppose the 400+ extra pounds is a real thing.

Seats are a bit small for me, but I made do.

Wish I had more time driving it.

Yeah all the Chicago dealers are getting them.  They snap crackle and pop with the stock exhaust, but the exhaust is quieter than the press cars is what I'm hearing.

Weird dyno results from Mishomoto but they sounded like idiots tbh.

I want one.

He does seem unsure of most everything. So... He doesnt know how to put the car into the different modes or all of the modes produce the same power?

It would be real close I bet, down to the driver at that point.  They run mid 13s and so does a VF'd Saabaru, well an aggressively tuned VF'd Saabaru has run a 12.2 so yeah...

It's asinine how much dealers are asking for these. On the local car enthusiast Facebook pages here in MA, stories abound of these things routinely stickering in the $50k range. I'm not sure if they are actually getting sold at that price, but the dealers seem to have high hopes of turning these into cash cows. We'll see how that works out, but I most certainly am not drinking the RS koolaid. These dealership markups and all that hype have me liking the low-key MK7 Golf R more and more.

Screw that. Even at its most base price, I would not want a car like that. I stop shopping econocar-based new cars after about the $30k mark. The Golf R is about the only car that kinda-sorta seems worth the money to me, but even still, I'd probably make my dollar go further on the used market than spend that money on a new Golf R, RS, STI, or any hot hatch in that price range.

If they don't go down in a few years or have some nice used one-owner pricing, I'll remain an admirer from afar.
