I drove an older Lotus Esprit Turbo S (perhaps the last of the 4-cylinder models) and it was a let-down.  I was expecting something that would provide a sharper driving experience and it did not.  Perhaps it needed some TLC.  I'm sure that would have helped enough.  Technology marches on, but hat lightness is something of the past.

I always giggle a bit when someone says Lotus, because I think of Clarkson's acronym Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious

I might as well contribute (in no particular order):
- GTR
- Some type of big diesel
- Older 911
- STi
- CTS-V wagon
- S2000

If I think of more I'll add them. Sadly, all of these are out of my price range and will be for many years to come.

Re: Automotive Ownership Bucket List

I read that list for the first time on my tablet, and thought "meh". Nice vehicle choice, but perfectly whelmed (not over, not under).

I opened it today on a much larger screen, and holy hell does that 510 pop. Now I'm all lusty.

Re: Automotive Ownership Bucket List

I love good 90s automotive design.

The 3000GT had All Wheel Steering too... That's weird, I'd like to try it.

Re: Automotive Ownership Bucket List

arrow-up  they actually drove quite well, tho rather heavy. Preferred the feel of the much lighter FWD ones, much nimbler and more responsive, tho neither drove like the "sports coupe" they could've been. It was a weight issue.

Re: Automotive Ownership Bucket List

A list of cars I want to own before I die, most importantly a realistic list.  I can wish for Lambos and hypercars all day long, but making a reasonable list is a more fun challenge.

Make sure you jag bags follow the rules, getting a little dreamy in here.

How?  I would love to import one but they aren't 20 years old yet.

And I'm backing up my #1, it's not an outrageously priced car and it's 5 years away from being able to be imported into the US.

Re: Automotive Ownership Bucket List

I could definitely see owning a used Hyundai Equus after they've had a chance to depreciate for a few more years. They've consistently been some of my favorite cars at the annual new car expos over the years since they've been introduced. I love the styling, and holy hell are they comfortable. I'm guessing it would be an amazing highway car for piling on the miles.  cool
