I would like my car to look brand new as well ya know? Do you have the budget for a proper full paint job? Cuz it's a lot. Here's advice on the different costs of re-spraying/plastidipping/wrapping a car from our resident paint expert:

Ok, so it's pretty simple... up

Cheapest - plastidip
Cheaper - wrap
Not so cheap - paint job

If you get a full paint job of the same color, a good job should start at around $2-2500. For the same color, say black. That is a decent job with a mid grade paint and decent prep work. Obviously there are many variables & you may find some back wood shop or a Maaco that will do a half ass job for cheap, $500-1k. You get what you pay for....Cheaper job with half ass prep & things painted over only means that. They could have taped around windows & not prepped it well, you hit it at the car wash 2 months down the road & a piece of paint the size of your hand peels off.....

I did a full color change, minus the bay, and everything was done with perfection! I have ocd, especially when I'm working on my own stuff. I quit logging my hours at 100. Now the average rate paid to an auto body shop from my experience is +/-$40 an hour. I spend easily $3k in supplies, basecoat, clear coat, primer, body filler, tape, sandpaper, tape...blah blah blah. Everything was taken apart & I used very high grade of PPG urethane base/clear coat. I estimate the paint job I did would have cost anywhere from $7k-10k depending on the shop that did it.

Awesome. Thanks for that info and helping set me straight lol. Now that u mention it I have seen some cars that are wrapped and look amazing. You know of any places that would do a good wrap? And how much they usually cost? It would be awesome to get a mat black wrap. Or like a mat maroon or something.  driving

Can't help much in the body work department. For tuning, I recommend Topspeed. You get what you pay for in terms of painting (and tuning) so wherever you go, do it right. Maybe swing by Subaru of Kennesaw and ask who they use for their body work? A lot of dealers outsource their body and paint work to very reputable shops.

Awesome thanks man. What would you recommend I do to this car before I get it tuned? I was thinking just basic stuff like intake and full exhaust and then get a tune. I will have to check out this Topspeed tuning for sure

You won't see any worthwhile power gains with an intake on these cars. Your money is far better spent on a downpipe, and a stage II tune.

Another person to look at for tuning is fast performance tuning. Ed Hawkins did the tune on the 92x I picked up. Top speed did the original

Id say get an accesport, all exhaust components, and go stage 1.

The start planning for stage 2 if your budget allows smile
