Daytime Running Lights or DRL not working

Here's a new one for me, but hope someone here knows what the problem is. DRL's have been working since i bought my 9-2X almost five years ago. My 9-2X came to a complete stop a few weeks ago, low to no electricity. When they put on the jumper box to get it on the flatbed it started and ran, but only as long as the box was connected. It was the alternator which I had replaced along with the battery as the battery was at least as old as the five years I've owned it. After getting it back I notice the DRL's no longer work. I've disconnected the battery to work on electrical things a few times since I've owned the car without this result, so I am wondering if having the dash light up like a Christmas tree, excuse me "holiday bush", right before the engine died could have affected the DRL's wiring or the DRL control box, which I think is behind the right kick panel? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your input.

regards, rj

Have you checked all the fuses?

Yes, but I will check again. Low beams work when I turn full lights on, it's only the DRL that appears to be the problem. Did I miss something, does the DRL have a separate fuse? Could having the alternator and battery changed have caused a surge or something that could hurt the DRL controller behind theright hand kick panel?

Thanks, rj

It was a long time ago, but I recall a separate relay for DRL, above the passenger footwell.

I know it's been a while, but I had a few more things done which required disconnecting the battery. While the battery was disconnected I checked the connections to the fuse panel, lights, and DRL relay behind passenger foot panel. And surprise (or maybe really no surprise) the DRL is working. Guess like with most computer glitches, when in doubt reboot.
