Yeah but this an OBXT post not a truck or SUV...?
Did the list of mods he just posted make you think he was gonna build a rock climber?

Wait, isn't this about an Outback? I must be confused.

An outback is a station wagon/cross over. It ain't an SUV or truck last I checked.

I never called it an SUV or truck

Then why should he lift it? You make 0 sense...

It's not an "etc." either. but you did compare it to those vehicles, and it's wagon. Period. It could go up or down.
keep diggin' that hole... see what happens. You're plenty familiar with us to know where this ends up.

quite accurate

My last statement then I'm done
From Wiki "Named after the vast, remote, and arid outback regions in Australia—the name is intended to emphasize the moderate off-road capability of the vehicle."
I was just trying to state my opinion (that was a mistake) that vehicles designed specifically with "off road" capabilities are weird lowered, like trucks and SUV's specifically. This is one that can pull it off since it's right in that middle area, especially if you go the performance route with the XT, like Goob is.
Anyways, sorry for the sidetrack, I look forward to seeing where this thing goes!

Well thanks for giving your opinion on whether you should lift or lower vehicles designed specifically for off road use except not this vehicle because it is right in that middle area and can pull it off.

Haha. And yea, the newer Outbacks look strange lowered but these ones look pretty good lowered in my opinion. I can dig lifted as well but regardless, Goon said he's only going to lower it .5" w/ the spacers included so this whole diversion into the pit of despair is for nothing.

I agree, I like the newer ones lifted more, but this generation can go either way since it's still a smaller vehicle compared to the new ones, which are closer to SUV size now. I'm almost regretting getting a GTI and instead getting an older Subaru like one of these, Forester XT, or Baja lol

I don't do any off-roading but if I did...the new Gen Outback 3.6Rs
2005-2009 Gen doesn't look good lifted IMHO:

I like all 3 of those! But yeah, the newer ones look better lifted

I could go mild...
I can put some 215/65/16 General Grabber AT 2 on my Saabaru wheels

Looks good, do it.

I concur. doooo it

Man, I really dig your car. Wish I would of gone with an older Subaru instead of my GTI.

Picking up a Turbo XS exhaust minus mid pipe (bolts to stock mid)
found a set of 4 Yokohama Geolander A/T-S 215/65R16 tires with 9/32" left for $200 but it is 3 hours away...waiting for shipping cost

If you ever want to sell it let me know

I have a set of 16" Saabaru wheels sitting around I may have to put to use in similar fashion.

Suspension math is killing me...
So Outback to legacy suspension drops the Outback 4.5"
Tein H drop another 1"-1.5"
Here is an OBXT with LGT Wagon springs, with 3/8 spacer in the rear...imagine lowering it another inch!
Offline
Maybe I will pass on the lowered suspension setups from my friend and go another route.
Offline
What's the ideal amount of drop you are looking for?
Offline
maybe an inch

I like this era of Forester dropped. IDK why I like a slammed box, but they really killed that with the new ones when they became an SUV instead of a wagon. The lowered OB doesn't do it for me.
