Re: So I'm a tard...

It's so bad that my buddy with a WRX sings "Drop It Like You're Chris" to the tune of "Drop It Like It's Hot" every time he works on his car. sad

Re: So I'm a tard...

He has two of his own that work great.  I have to bring mine when I work on my car at his place because regular-profile jacks can't get under my car.

Follow the instructions on bleeding the jack. Once I bled mine, the release works great.

I can't remember if mine's the 3000lb model but it sure looks like this one. Thanks Scargo

Re: So I'm a tard...

Most of the crap I've purchased from Harbor Freight has ended up broken in a couple months time.  This has deterred me from buying one of their jacks.  But damnit do I need a low profile, light weight jack.  I have a hand-me-down steel joint that weighs ~100 lbs and barely fits under the car.   unamused

I tried to buy that one, but it was sold out at the time.

Got a steel one for $55 at Wally World, and it has some release issues, too.  Chinese tech, so kind of expected.

Re: So I'm a tard...

bleed it man.  Hydraulics is hydraulics, and if it'll hold up the car, it's really not a hydraulic cylinder issue. The rest may well be cheap junk (like I have to hammer back the pins and pivots of mine from time to time) but the drop issues are pretty straightforward.

Re: So I'm a tard...

Well, you suck, I’ve dismantled and rebuilt my project aero with mostly Harbor Freight tools with minimal tool failure. Oh and your car has the worst resale value of all Aeros because you have no service records.

2005 satin gray metalic aero, sold. 06 wrx, adios!
2005 black aero, rescue project, jdm EJ205 avcs.
2005 desert silver aero, traded.
2002 bugeye, sedan, JDM STi ver 7 swapped.

Man, I feel like I've been reading replies in a WRX forum here lately...

Can we all get back to what stickers you've added to your roof rack wind deflector?   big_smile
