Re: Sohlman's 2015 WRX

Went out to the canyons super early this morning and decided to film my exhaust so i could get a better idea of how it sounds from the outside.
https://vimeo.com/216396128
I'm really surprised how loud it is from the outside considering I can barely hear it inside the car.

Re: Sohlman's 2015 WRX

Pictures from another awesome canyon run this morning, this time on Mosquito Ridge Rd with aj916 and a supercharged BRZ. Even though I've been in California from the east coat for about 2 years now I really can't get over how beautiful this great state really is. To anyone in the Northern California area Mosquito Ridge is probably the best driving road I have seen in California, it's an absolute must.

I would have to agree that the road is the best I have found. Great way to get out of the heat for a little bit today. Oh, and your pictures look great too.

The 9-2x is easily the best GD Impreza in terms of looks, it and the GC8 make all other Subarus look like pigs haha

I'd say the 9-2X is easily the best looking "Subaru" period, especially Angelo's in red. Every time I see it makes me regret selling my 9-2. The 15+s styling has grown on me a bit, but i still find it clunky and gangly especially in the front. I wish Subaru would go back to a cleaner and simpler design language.

True, the 15+ front end has really grown on me, but I still don't like the backend and lack of hatch.

The fucking POS Linear on my block makes me regret selling my 9-2x all the time, if I had to see Angelo's car in person I'd just cry.

Pics from another trip up Mosquito Ridge with ikbrown and aj916. Great trip despite multiple loose dogs and a person driving over a cliff.

Yes should have been more clear that it wasn't one of us. We drove around a corner to find a dog running up the middle of the road and then a few corners later found a ranger holding traffic. Apparently someone drove off the cliff and their dog escaped after the accident. To my knowledge everyone was okay which is miraculous considering you couldn't even see the car over the edge of the cliff. Made me a lot more cautious the rest of the way down the mountain.

Glad to hear that everyone was ok (to the best of your knowledge).  I have yet to experience fun driving on canyon/cliff roads (the Midwest is pretty flat)

The road is VERY lightly used and looks like closed in the winter - there are sections that 1 lane is blocked off because it's eroded away and hasn't been repaired - didn't look like they went off in one of those sections tho so who the heck knows. distracted? avoiding a squirrel? something broke?

Honestly PCH is a road that is more enjoyed at slow speeds wether you want to or not (a fair amount of RV/ tourist traffic). It is an absolutely gorgeous stretch of road though with lots of cool bunkers etc along the way. You're going to love that trip, just don't be expecting SoCal warm water.

That's what I figured.  It's just gonna be my wife and I.  We are going to San Francisco for a few days, then Monterey and Big Sur for a couple, and then finish with Yosemite for a few more days. Think its actually colder by you then here in Indiana.

Sounds awesome. Where are you going in Yosemite? Best advice would be to avoid the valley as it's always a zoo of tourists.
