I do like the spoiler, not sure what route I'll take with it but it will be a long term project to keep myself from getting bored. Perhaps a JDM AVCS EJ205, pink injectors and a 16G. I would love to come across a HTA68, we shall see.

I'd go de-stroked 257 with a 35r and some meth

You know I'm no 2.5L fan, if anything 2.1 stroker but I'm a factory sealed motor fan. That's my preference for reliability, so far that has been the case. I think I'll be playing with the new project for years to come, no need to have it on the road.
I'm going to Japan in February with my family for two weeks, hopefully I'll have time to go car part shopping.

HTA68 runs well on my 2.5L, big injectors and a FMIC and you'd have a killer e85 setup.
Offline
No 2.5L for me.
You however should be running a bigger turbo on your 2.5 and sell me the HTA68.

Rescue project has been running 100% reliably, approaching 200,000 miles on the clock, loving and enjoying it.

Rescue project news, I’ve decided to revert the black Saabaru to a WRX drive train, back to a 5 speed transmission and R160 rear diff with a jdm avcs ej205. All the ver 7 STi drive train parts are going to my sedan bugeye, where they naturally belong. The bugeye has a rust free body that has never been hit. The black Saabaru is rust free but has been hit and is not the perfect car I want. I’m getting rid of my desert silver aero, my work horse. The black Saabaru will be the new work horse and I’m ok submitting it to all year round use.

Wow. Sounds like you've already made up your mind (and based on the other thread giving up the Desert Silver in exchange for the work doing the swap). Have to ask--even if this car isn't perfect, is there a reason to go through all the effort to swap it vs. enjoy it as a workhorse with the Ver7 setup as is?

For it to be a legit work horse it needs to run on a 91 oct tune in order for me to be able to drive it to Missouri, several times a year. No 93oct after Pennsylvania. I have ID850 injectors using a vf48, an aggressive tune, not ideal for long distance travel. It a guzzler, a 91 oct tune feels counterintuitive. I could just have a 91oct map I guess. I also prefer the TD04 on a avcs enabled ej205 with stock injectors on my work horse, I can get 28mpg on a fun stage 2 tune. I got Very lucky when I purchased the ver 7 drive train, I’d like to hold on to it long term, does not use any oil in 4500 oil change intervals and the transmission/diffs are quiet and smooth. With a hitch, the sedan gets practical enough to commute to work and go mountain bike riding if the roads are not salted.

NYS shot my shop down for 2 days, Had to apply for a permit to stay open as essential.
Got an email today authorizing my bicycle store as essential, I'm back in business for repairs.
Some rays of light shining.

The black wagon received all the wrx drive train parts from my 02 bugeye sedan. It also now has a new to me and it jdm ej205 with avcs. The motor was off an automatic forester I believe. Had to install all the manual transmission related timing belt guide plastics and guides obviously. To my surprise it came with a td04HL little turbo that Im very pleased about. I’m keeping that turbo because I love the td04 for my daily driver. It has enabled avcs, a Cobb 3 port boost controller, brand new Cobb catted down pipe and brand new Stromung 2.5" catback, twin tip, I like the looks. Also installed abrand new kartboy lightweight crank pulley and a second hand Perrin turbo inlet and aftamaf, stock air box. Also installed a jdm STi ver 7 intake manifold, factory TGV delete and a jdm STi ver 7 top mount intercooler. New Aisin timing belt kit, new Exedy oem clutch, new NGK iridium one heat range colder plugs and brand new oem coil packs. It’s running on a Stephen Clark e tune from the previous work horse Saabaru I traded for all the labor to swap my cars. Once the car is all done and on the road Ill start logging and get it fine road tuned. The new motor sounds very healthy and was extremely clean inside. I still have to setup the struts, going back to factory springs and factory 17mm rear sway bar, going for comfort. The brake rotors got all rusted up from the car sitting so long, I’m installing new rotors and pads. I was sick with the coronavirus the last 3 1/2 weeks, I’m feeling stronger. The weather Sunday looks promising so hopefully I can get the struts and brakes all done. I’ll post some pictures when is all done, I hate posting pictures on this site, it’s not as easy as posting pictures on Nasioc.

It’s alive and running very well. It is sitting now at factory height plus saggy but spacers in the rear to account for the additional weight from the hitch and bicycle rack. The koni adjustable struts contribute a great deal to the good quality ride. A jdm STi gauge cluster sits now where the edm Prodrive cluster used to sit. The new jdm ej205 is working perfectly, no check engine lights, avcs is working properly. It’ll need map adjustments. It is running on the ECU and map off the previous work horse. The new motor came with a slightly larger td04HL turbo, the intermediate pipe is new but an identical 2.5“ Stromung, the new axleback is a custom made Stromung vs a Prodrive previously. I also installed a Perrin turbo inlet, a Cobb aftamaf and a Kartboy aluminium crank pulley. Small differences but enough to require map adjustments. I have a ver 7 jdm STi intake manifold to install, it’ll delete TGV, once that is installed I’ll start the tuning process. I’m very happy and loving it but sad thinking about it becoming an all year round work horse, it’s really a shame, the body is 100% rust free. I might not be able to get myself to drive it all year round.

The new $875 motor is doing well. JDM ej205 with avcs, off an automatic transmission donor.
Splurged a little to eliminate TGV using a ver 7 intake manifold. I really wanted it for the harness, my cheap motor came with some decayed wires.
New motor sitting in its new home, looks like an ej207.
Stock td04HL
Stock fuel injectors
Avcs
TGV delete
STi top mount intercooler
Walbro fuel pump
Cobb 3 port boost controller
Kartboy light crank pulley
Perrin turbo inlet
Cobb afta maf
Cobb catted downpipe
Stromung catback.

Started a D2H proyector retrofit on the bugeye headlights because they suck compared to the HID on the aero.
