In February when I bought it, less than 5 dollar difference. Make sure the h2o pump is quality though. Gates ones fail

This kit does not include the water pump and it has the standard black belt, not the heavy duty (racing) blue belt. It's a a good deal.

2005 black aero, rescue project, jdm EJ205 avcs.
2005 desert silver aero, traded.

Opinions about replacing the water pump when doing the timing belt?  I've heard about half & half that some people don't replace them and some do.

It's cheap insurance.  I'd use a Subaru OEM.

Better hope Scorp doesn't find this thread after he's had his cup of coffee...

He's gone off a few times about how one of the service techs at his dealership told him it's a complete waste to do the water pump with the timing belt unless it is actually leaking at the time.

I'm with you - I had it replaced with the timing belt.

Yeah the guy who told me he's never seen one fail is a master tech...but it seems like it'd be good insurance, not sure about cheap though if getting an oem one, though I think it'd be worth it.

Did mine because everything else was already trying to leak. I used an Aisin which is supposed to be who makes the oem ones
