...lol. A professional racer from car and driver. Different elevations, different track conditions. But yeah Slow... For comparison there was a stage 2 16 wrx Making consistent 14.6 passes. That's slow.

Lol they say they launch it off the limiter with a clutch dump. You do that at the track and you won't have axles anymore.

Yeah, I found that interesting. But seriously, your time seems respectable all things considered.

Bump. Haven't posted here in a while but I did manage to run 13.2 at 106 in my S60, bone stock hardware, just the Polestar tune which brings the power to R-design spec, and 2 gallons of race gas thrown in for shits and giggles. It took a cool night to get those numbers and my times got slower with any kind of heat soak. That's with the car still sand bagging at the launch, pausing for what feels like half a second before scooting hard after brake torquing it at the line. That lead to slow 2.0 and 2.1 60ft times. There's a trick to launching in 2nd that allows you to brake boost better, but when I've tried it, it launches in 2nd, kicks back down into 1st, then back to 2nd a moment later, creating 2 additional gear changes which obviously negate the benefits of the harder launch. I was able to cut a 1.8 60ft that way, however. If I can get the 1.8 60ft and get a clean 2nd gear launch without activating the mechanical kickdown switch back to 1st gear, that should be enough to get a 12.9, still bone stock. I'm not sure that will ever happen because I will probably start doing some basic mods this summer before I have a chance to return in cooler air. Still, it's encouraging how close to running 12s it is. Something as simple as an intercooler upgrade would probably get me there, which is good because that's one of the only semi-affordable mods for this car.

Bump. Long time since I posted on this forum. Hai guise!
Still haven't beaten my personal best of 13.2 which I set on a 45 degree night with about 50% race gas in the tank. Since then I added a big FMIC and a motor mount insert and ran a 13.3 in 79 degree weather on straight 93 octane gas. So, a tenth slower but on a 25 degree warmer day and with lower octane gas plus a wonky alignment. The car definitely feels quicker over all. I'm currently in the process of having an aftermarket downpipe installed and I hope to return to the track within 2 weeks on a colder night to try again with the FMIC+dp+race gas. Will I achieve 12s? Possibly. It'll probably end up running a 13.0-13.1 but I'm cautiously optimistic it'll be good for a 12.9.
Anyone else racing these days? Post up your times!

Bump. I went back to the drag strip one last time for the season, and I have good new and bad news:
The good news is, I ran a best ever time of 13.1 at 101.x mph.
The bad new is, the trans did not survive the day. Still working with the dealership to resolve the situation but I will update this when I know more. Til then, I am not going to include any real details.

Oh shit, you blow a gear or a clutch? Or is it Auto? ha

It's an auto. I blew a shift solenoid, according to the service advisor. End result was they replaced the transmission for me under warranty and were willing to overlook the modifications to the car. They didn't ask me any uncomfortable questions, either, just helped me and kept Volvo corporate engineers out of the process. I dodged an incredibly expensive bullet and I am super happy it turned out so well. Probably would have cost me $5,000+ which would have been a real problem.

So time for a GT35r?

This is why my '15 Forester XT is staying at a stage 1 tune. Don't want to blow 8k on a new CVT

It's crazy how expensive modern motors and transmissions are. If you screw up nowadays the financial consequences could end marriages and leave you destitute, lol.
