I'd take 9k as is, not a penny less. I'll part it out and easily get back quite a bit more if not, just kind of lacking the motivation to do so at the moment.

"Easy" and "part it out" are two things that have never gone together unless you run a pick and pull yard smile

Re: My black Aero

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have the space, the ability, and the tools to do so, just lacking the motivation. Work and family demands are priority these days. Plus, the car is strut tower rust free, runs real strong, and is built pretty well with some quality parts; it would be nice to see someone else enjoy it rather than taking it apart.

Monetarily speaking, recouping over 9k would be easily accomplished with what I have in this thing.

Re: My black Aero

Dammit dude. I got on here specifically to see an update of this car. Bummer you're over it, I miss both of the aeros I had. My wrx is great and all, but I just don't like it as much. It would be so fun to buy this back but unfortunately I'm having some pretty crazy neurological problems I'm trying to figure out. I may have to stop driving altogether  sad facepalm

From you, I'd make an exception.

How about $8,999.98?

That sounds like a daunting process. Best of luck to you in figuring things out and whatever treatment options exist.

Yeah, it sucks but I have a pretty positive attitude. MRI came back perfect, my doctor ran every blood test he could and diagnosed me with Hashimoto’s disease and pretty severe adrenal fatigue. (Unrelated but good he caught it early) I am getting an EEG at this very moment so hopefully I get it figured out and find a way to come up with $8,999.99 (hopefully he makes an exception for me as well)  driving

Damn dude, that's rough, sorry to hear that. Hang in there!

I really like the car and don't really want to sell it. The reality is such that it doesn't make a whole lot sense to keep it, even though I keep trying to convince myself to do so. I drove it today and it's a riot to drive, perma-smile the whole time. I've already bought a replacement that's not too shabby in it's own right, but there is something about the saabaru that makes it hard to let go of. I might sell my 300zx instead, but either way something will have to go at some point.

Care to share with the rest of the class? Also, love your car. I'd be a buyer of that cluster if you decide to part it out, but sincerely hope you don't have to do that.

Re: My black Aero

That reverse collar in the video looks like you have a 6mt, did you abandon the PPG setup?

Re: My black Aero

I bought a 2nd generation cts-v sedan. Basic bolt on flex fuel package and its putting down 630whp/600trq not breaking a sweat. It's a beast in a straight line for sure, and for a bigger car it's not too shabby in the twisties either.

I'll definitely keep that in mind. You'll have first dibs if it comes to that.

Sore subject...short answer is yes, it's got a v7 non dccd 6mt in it now. Should've just dont that to begin with. Pays to be different some times but in this case different definitely wasnt better. The rebuilt PPG setup literally lasted less than 6k miles before it developed a nasty synchro grind again. I paid way too much all in with shipping etc. to go through that all over again so I just bit the bullet and went full 6mt. The 6mt feels bullet proof compared to the 5mt, really not a comparison. Mine is kind of loud on deceleration during certain rpm ranges but I'll take the trade off any day. The PPG setup also became unbearably annoying when cruising in 4th gear at sustained speeds. The plan is to remove and sell the gears and shift forks, just haven't got to it yet.

Nice pics. Can someone tell how to remove that watermark of Photobucket from the image?
