Aftermarket fogs wiring HELP!!!

i have aftermarket fog lights mounted but not connected in the factory position and no existing wiring. I would like them to run whenever the low and subsequent high beams are on. can i just ground both and run a fuseable link to the headlights? what is the easiest way to wire them up?

facepalm

I don't have time to answer all those questions right now, but search the site a little, there is a very good write-up available for installing the fogs.  And even if it is a linear (what is it, a linear or an aero?) the fog light wiring is installed, the question is if you want to use it or not.

Re: Aftermarket fogs wiring HELP!!!

TEAF only marginally more time than Tonka, but search the site, and do NOT attempt to run your fogs off of the headlights. Fogs draw a sizable amount of current, running them from the headlights ( for power) will either blow the fuse at an I opportune moment (when you need them) or if the fuse doesn't blow, then risk the damage of the switch (expensive and a PITA to do) or worse yet the wiring.  You would want to run a fused power lead from the battery and then use a relay triggering circuit which you could trigger directly from the low beam circuit. Just don't use vampire taps, particularly on external (outside of the cabin) connections.

Re: Aftermarket fogs wiring HELP!!!

Here’s the link to the discussion on wiring the fog lights. https://saab92x.com/viewtopic.php?id=17146

These are the wiring diagrams that go with it, they got deleted when the site changed ownership:

Stock fog wiring:

Stock fog wiring with a relay.  Note that I don't show a fuse, you MUST use a fuse to the relay contact to protect both the lamps and the rest of your vehicle:

Like Scargo said, don’t wire the fog lamps to be powered by the headlamps.  Bad idea, for all the reasons he gave.

You can use the stock wiring, you will need the relay, switch, and possible need to the fuse.

Here's the link for rewiring the fogs:  https://saab92x.com/viewtopic.php?id=5761&p=1
