remote starter

any of you got that device installed on an Aero ? Here, because it's a SAAB, they say it's very particular, not at all like the WRX and needs special technician to do the job. Talking about $550 cdn to do it...any feedback ?  confused

Re: remote starter

I used to install remote starts all of the time.  There is absolutely nothing different for the install than there would be in a WRX.

Stupid installers either just clueless or trying to rape you on the price.  down mad banghead

Re: remote starter

thanks guys, that's exactly what I thought...most of these installers don't know the difference between a real SAAB and a SAABARU...they were talking about having to put the car in reverse, bypass this and that ...all a bunch of BS... down

Re: remote starter

Neutral switch for the MT...  Not an overly big deal and quite common now.  Many cars will not start unless the clutch is in or the car is in neutral anyway.

I know what they were talking about....
"Real" Saab manuals need to be put in reverse to remove the key.....
Let them know your car is a Subaru in drag and it doesnt need to be in reverse to remove the key....

Cheers,

Scott

Re: remote starter

I knew the thing about the reverse applied to real Saabs and told them that the ignition was not in the console but in the steering column and I told them about the fact my car (MT) was in fact a Subaru WRX but still they didn't trust me. Up to now, my dealer has the best price (he knows it's not a real Saab) $399 + taxes...not bad but still a lot of money... I'll think about it and maybe when it gets real cold I'll make a decision wink

yes $399 + taxes everything included. 2500' range, doors and alarm... but I'm still wondering if it's a good thing because of the cold start problem...I usualy need to let the fuel pump work a few seconds before starting the car...when really cold like this morning (-10C)  the car won't start if I don't give it time to "prime"...
