My '06 WRX

After searching for some time(not as long as some of you) for a 9-2x, and missing out on an '05, I looked at an '06 WRX, and ended up buying it. While I really wanted a 9-2x, I couldn't pass up this opportunity. Here are some pictures shot with my cell phone(hence the bad quality)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v254/kozman04/IMAG0285.jpg
It came with a winter set and summer set of wheels, though I am probably going to be selling the summer's(the Enkei resting against the car, with Dunlop Direzza sport Z1's). It also has pinstripes in green of all colors(which doesn't match any part of the car) which will be removed soon. I've also removed the ski/snowboard rack, which i am probably going to sell as well.

As for the Interior....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v254/kozman04/IMAG0288.jpg
The preview owner stuck something to the center console, which left permanent mark. Because of this and the obsession I seemed to have noticed with a lot of you and Plasti-Dip, I Plasti-diped the console, which turned out pretty well.

The glamor shots of the car will be done as soon as I remove the pinstripes, fix some dents unamused, and throw some nice summer wheels on it.

Not as bad as the tan carpeting. Never understood why they went that route. Tan seats + black carpet = golden

Congrats with the car, yawnoCmai.  embeer And like many others have mentioned - your avatar ... Man, please change it to something epileptic friendly. It steals too much focus from anything you write or post. You can have a catparade in it for all I care, just please consider getting rid of the houseparty-blinks. In this case it works to scroll down to the top of the roof rack.  facepalm

+ It's a cat. Ever see a search and rescue cat? Ever see a cat working customs? Seeing eye cat? No, you haven't. Why? Not because they are not superior beings. (Wich almost any catowner would claim) They just don't give a single fuck about anything! This is not the same as tons of intelect, learning capabilties and  ability to interact with humans. Yes, cats are cute as hell, make good company and can be trained, but they have memory like elephants and give in to their own delusions about trust way too easy. So if you end up doing someting wrong (you probably didn't even notice what shook the little hairball's world) just one single time, in their, I'm-constantly-on-my-period-world, they hate you and never trust shit.

So. Tune in next time when I'll be discussing Raptor's vs. T-Rex or Rats vs. Mice and still, congrats on a nice car.  big_smile

The cat is gone... sad

As for the Tan, I think it looks good. All you haters can hate.

Black carpeting would make the car look weird IMO, and I think it works well that it is tan. I am also hopping on another trend here, and I will most likely be picking up some black rubbertite floor mats.

I like tan seats in a black car myself, but I would prefer leather.  I hate the tan portions of my seats simply because they're so hard to keep looking clean.
Good decision parting with the wheels and weird green pin stripe.  My car had a black pin stripe, which I promptly removed.

I have to say the leather seats are nice. They're much.....much better than the ones in my accord.

As for the pinstripe, how did you remove it? They were painted on my car, and they're proving to be a huge pain to get off.

As for the hate. Just a little on the cats, not the car. The pinstripe I would take to someone working with carpaint. Maybe they have some magical tricks up their sleeve? Might be a chance if it's somehow some different kind of paint than the original paint, but not highly likely.

Good luck and  embeer banana  driving for your new avatar!  up  big_smile

painted on you say?  what a dumb decision, but based on their rim taste I'm not surprised.

Painted?  Who the hell....  I don't know man, mine were just sun-baked stickers.

Re: My '06 WRX

I'm looking at your picture...  Are you sure those are painted on?  They look like the typical dealer added pin stripe stickers.  There's a good chance yours are just roasted on like mine were.  I used a heat gun to peel them off, and then buffing compound on a warm day to get rid of left over adhesive.  It's a chore, and it takes a long time.

They are for sure painted on. I don't have a picture of it, but in the lettering on the door, you can clearly see it was done by hand.

What all would i have to do to swap the rear end? Hatch, lights and bumper? If so thats would be well into the future...

As for the seats... I don't get why all of you hate the tan. I think the seats look pretty good. So sorry thymighty, those are staying with me.  driving

Re: My '06 WRX

Got the pinstripes taken off today, and I had my camera out for taking pictures of my accord to sell...so I took some nicer shots of the WRX. These were just shot in my driveway, so there are no fancy backgrounds of abandoned airports, parking garages anything, or anything like that...yet.

Looks great. If my '06 WRX had been black, I might actually have kept it when the lease ran out rather than switching to a Saabaru.
