I'm surprised. I thought the median age would be mid thirties. Of course, this could be because the ones who chose to participate or found this website are the younger crowd. Maybe older folks don't have computers? Too many variables to think about. This is still a good survey.

Go to the grandaddy of Saab forums, www.saabnet.com and I think you will find that most participants are the over 30 (even over 40) crowd you are referring to.

One of the most exciting things about saab92x.com, IMHO, is that the participants here are very youthful in attitiude, regardless of age.  At saabnet.com (hey, no offense, Scott) the threads are almost exclusvely about snow tires and ski racks and what's the best leather seat cleaning products etc etc etc.  No one over there is too interested in making their car go faster or look cooler.  Not true here!

Re: Age of 9-2x owners?

I'll be 20 in August. I'm 6'5" though so I needed a bigger car than the Prelude I was driving. Loved the Prelude but it was becoming a money pit. And uncomfortable. I've been looking at Subaru's for the past year and stumbled upon this. Love the sleeper style anyways.

For those of you having 'issues' with the insurance companies.... Try progressive.

My insurance company quoted me ~1600 for 6 months 50/100 500 deductables after having an 02 S10 ZR2 pickup for 700/6mo

I called progressive, 700/6mo, same coverage, same deductables.

I do have one 'no fault' wreck, and a 5 over ticket in the last year.

In MA we don't have options like Progressive or Geico, etc.  The big competitive insurance companies don't bother with the state since it's regulated.

What a sucky state!

I think it has 'little state syndrome'.

About insurance...I pay about $408/6 months through Farm Bureau.  It helps that I have a beater I can claim as a daily driver...I insure it for about $250/6 months.

Re: Age of 9-2x owners?

24 here

So far, USAA (usually a good place) wants $1203 to insure it.  Im going to check Progressive and Geico to see what they offer, since I won't take delivery for a couple weeks.

After an edit, I must say that Progressive is the best so far, with a quote of a little over $500 for me.  Allstate, for some unknown reason, wanted $2940, and if that is accurate, they are stupid.  If it is a mistake, they don't get my business anyway for having non-user friendly information.  Geico also doesn't get my business because they don't have the 9-2 on their website.  Can't get a quote without talking to anyone.

I'm 27, married, and an NCO, and had to pay USAA a little over $900 for 6 months here in Hawaii (high insurance no-fault state) for my Aero.  I know my rates will go down as my wife's tickets and accidents come off her record in a year, and I just got my commission, so my rates should drop a bit more 6 months from now (it sucks, my policy took effect just a month before my commission came through).

USAA was the best rates I found for myself.  We have three cars on my policy.

Cheap? My insurance company called me back to give me my quote and started off by saying, "This must be a nice car, the exposure index is very high".......LOL

I think liability is cheap on this car since it's a Saab, but since MSRP is $30k+ for an Aero with any options, collision is high

Re: Age of 9-2x owners?

Just remember- Scientists have now stated that todays 40 year olds are living like the 1950-1980s 30 year olds, due to  keeping there health up, waiting longer on having kids & more & better medical attention sooner in their lives.

So...I'm resetting the clock to 30.  Pass me another multi vitiamin would 'ya... wink
