Bump.  Straytowel, you wrap your car yet?

My hood scoop is looking pathetic.  I think I want to wrap it in matte black, and I think I'll go crazy and do the roof & mirrors too while I'm at it.  Thoughts?  I think the scoop might be ricey, but I need to do something about the paint...

If you do the mirrors won't it just look like a cheap car with unpainted mirrors?  Paint the scoop... only way to go.  figure out how to get it off yet?  Sticker bomb it?

E30 in your talons yet?  Make haste in answering these extremely important questions.

Also, since I'm lazy i don't want to read this to figure out how the vinyl "adheres."  Glue? Leave a residue?  magnets?

I haven't figured out how to get the scoop off yet.  I've had no success with the patented 'grip it n rip it' method...  Sticker bombing it would be a step in the wrong direction...

No E30, maybe next summer, or I could inherit her E36 when we get married and/or she gets a new car.  It's an automatic 325i sedan though...

As for your other question, there's an adhesive already in place on the back side of the vinyl, and when you apply it with a squeegee to get all of the air out from underneath it, it sticks.

Very cool, well best of luck with the hood scoop.  Bummer to hear about the progress.

E36 would at least be fun in the winter, tho, I've never driven one without an LSD

Re: Vinyl wrapping the 9-2x, what do we think?

I'm thinking of buying a roll of vinyl and going for it on the miata. Figure why not? I want to do white on white. I'll get some bondo to fill in any gaps and then apply the vinyl over big_smile best of all since its a small car seams wont be that obvious~!

2005 Saab 9-2x Aero 4EAT <3 I loves it.  1 of 1,353 same models built in 05' super duper rare. Only 17.26% of 05' Production.
Dislikes: Saab logo vanishing, paint cheap.

Re: Vinyl wrapping the 9-2x, what do we think?

@kirby92x can you recommend a good vinyl cutter?

Sorry for being off topic.

I've been searching for a good electric cutter for weeks now. Can't make up my mind. Right now I'm leaning towards the Rolland. What do you think?

After reading a bunch of reviews I didn't get any wiser because it's just hype. Nobody talks about negatives or drawbacks.

A few days ago came across a different blog. It seems to be the real deal. I've read this Rolland Cutter review and put me on the fence.

I have a MAC what should I do? Is there a different software to use? It really sucks that you have to pay for the software.

Any help and tips are warmly received.

I'm sure he'll get right back to you.  I mean the thread is over 8 years old and he hasn't posted here since 2013....   facepalm
