Comment: Do it now! My Black Aero looked 20x better with all 7 windows tinted. I get a lot more compliments on it now than I ever did stock.
Problems: None. Except check your tint laws. That may be the only problem is if you tint something you aren't supposed to or if you do it darker than allowed. That could be a big problem.

ya...i would only think the tint laws are the only thing to consider. no problems here.

Only major problem with heavy tinting is you will have a tough time spotting police behind you. Forget about speeding at night without detector.
If you drive within a reasonable speed then tinting is one of the best mods to the 9-2x.

I agree with all the replies. When I see pictures of 92x's without the tint, it just dosnt look right for some reason. The tint on my Black Aero was the first mod I did and made it look a lot nicer, keeps the heat out a lot better, and now when the sun is shining into the drivers side of my car I roll up the window and it is 10 times better

tinting my car in few weeks also!

Did any of you who have already tinted use metallic or hybrid fillm?? While I'd prefer a hybrid type I know that it can reduce radio reception. With our Saabaru's fairly weak "integrated antenna" I'm worried there may be problems.

I'm using Formulaone Pinnacle Ceramic, 35% on the front windows, 18% on the rest. Quite a bit cheaper than the Huper Optik

I had my windows tinted a few weeks ago. I found a reputable place, but they did a lousy tint job. I took it back twice so far and am planning a thrid trip when I can find the time. Seems they were having some renevation done and there was lots of dust floating around. All 7 windows had to be redone and three have some air bubbles that really annoy me. otherwise the place stood behind their work and said to keep bringing it back if I wasn't satisfied.
Make sure to take a look at some cars they've recently done, be sure the job is warrantied and pay with a credit card in case there's a dispute.
I think the 92X looks so much better with tint than without.

I paid $200 for my tint job. Chick did a really nice job. She filed down the edges of each door window for me.
Yes it is FULL LIMO tint. 5%. Highly illegal. And yes I do speed ridiculously but luckily my gf bought me an escort 8500 x50 "Worlds best detector" Saves my ass everyday.
I have a good eye for cops so im able to roll them down. Thinking of replace the window motors with something faster though. Im use to driving a car with limo tint so I have no problems driving around during the day or night. I know what crown vic head light look like also lol but usually a cop isnt gonna come from behind you when your driving like me 95 to 100+ all the time.
Im going to double limo tint the back 3 windows since you can kinda see in. Plus my stereo system is going in soon and I dont want that visible. Im also gonna put a black vinyl or tint stripe on the top of the windsheild.

BlackedOut9-2x, that would look great with some smoked headlights.

TADAAAAAA
Tint is good. DO IT.
Try to get something reflective a bit but still have the dark shade when the sky is clear.
That way, you car tint will look alive and won't look faded after 3 years.

Stay Tuned
Conservative 17" are on the way and I have feeling my choice this time will make the 92X even SEXAYYYYYYYERRRRRR
I want it to stay w/ 17" rims instead of 18"
Here are more of the tint pics from different sides:

Scroll all the way down the DSC00 pics.
I can't remember how many percent tint.
I think it was Sunguard brand or something.
I'll check it when I get the car back.

First... The Mike Bolton avatar beating the crap out of the fax machine is cracking me up!!! I can watch for hours!
PCLOADLETTER? WTF is that supposed to mean? You like that?...Huh?
I'm interested in tinting as well. I'm concerned about 2 things:
1. How durable is the film? Will it eventually scratch if the seal gets dirty?
2. I live in IL, land of the stiffs. Anyone get away with tint in IL for more than a few months? If so, what % on the front windows?
3. When they install, do they remove the door panels? How do they get under the seal?
Man BlackedOut9-2x:
Why don't you just paint the windows black? That's some dark stuff man

Saw the note on restrictive PA tint laws. Moving to PA (philly) next year- otherwise would have tinted the first week I got my car.
Anybody live in PA and know what's actually tolerated by police there? Is the 70% tint allowed by law any darker than the factory tint? Does anybody have 70% and what do they think?

Elvis I live in Philly and most people who have tint have it much darker than 70. 80 is much more common. Although phillys finest could pull you over for the darker tint, they won't unless you are in the wrong neighborhood at the wrong time (or driving the wrong car). It would be impossible for them to pull over everyone with 80 tint. The tint from the factory is 95% (very light).

Thanks for the info. One point of confusion- 80% is actually a lighter tint than 70% no? If factory tint is really only 95% then I guess I'd go ahead and tint 70% all round.

Elvis - PA goes by transmittance and their 70% "limit" is VERY light. My subaru had 35% on it and I was never hassled for it. I'm about to do the 9-2X and I'm going darker (20%). You could probably do 50% and never hear anything about it. 35% starts to get a little on the edge. I've been stopped and conscientously do the windows down, light on courtesy routine when stopped. (no tickets just talk...*knocks on wood*). The general concensus of the car community is that a cop's perception of the 'offender' leads to add on tickets for tint or being pulled over for tint as a primary offense. I think the 80% from above is how much light it blocks = 20% transmittance.
lemme know when you get to Philly.

I have 35/20 on my black Aero, I'd go darker but the cops in my town have a nasty habit of killing people for no apparent reason, and dark windows make their trigger fingers itchy. That having been said, I'm having some problems with the rear right passenger window, the film has come loose at the bottom and apart from looking like shit, makes a nasty crinkling noise when I roll it down. I need to get it taken care of but I'm in class 8 hours a day right now and studying the rest of the time.
