Toyota, Fuji Heavy may jointly develop sports car: report
By Tokyo Bureau
Last Update: 9:40 PM ET Aug 9, 2007

TOKYO (MarketWatch) -- Toyota Motor Corp. (7203.TO) and Fuji Heavy Industries (7270.TO) are considering jointly developing a sports car, the Asahi Shimbun reported Friday.
According to the report, the new car would be sold under the Toyota brand, and may carry Fuji Heavy's horizontally opposed engine. The two firms plan to decide on details of the vehicle by this autumn and aim to market it in 2010, the report says.
The new car would be the first joint project for the two automakers, which formed capital ties in October, 2005. Toyota currently has no sports car in its lineup, since it stopped making the MR-S in late July.
The car would likely be sold for under Y2 million and mainly target younger customers, the report says.

Re: Toyota, Fuji Heavy may jointly develop sports car

I thought they already did this?
The new 08 WRX??
Subaru's drivetrain and Toyota's Corolla body design? No?

Obligatory sig with extensive power mod list for greater respect:
-JDM oil pan, JDM dipstick, STI oil pickup and baffle plate for ultimate oil flow, STI midpipe for uber power gains.
-WetOkole front seat covers for ass sweat stains
-Drawtite hitch (no wiring) for a bike and a trunkmonkey for shits and giggles
