Ok, so I bought a saabaru from one of saab 92x's members. It had been rolled and totalled, so I bought it and re-did the whole thing. I have been driving it for about a month now. The car arrived on a truck on 12/31. It was on the road on 2/4. i had to buy and replace the roof skin, left a-pillar, right front fender, front driver's door, and windshield. other smaller parts were replaced as well, including the intake elbow.
It runs great and I am very happy. It rides much better than my 2002 wrx wagon which I just sold (I was orig. owner, put 158,000 miles on it!!!).

Any ideas on improving the car? The only thing that comes to my mind right now is a carbon roof (M6 style). Adding a sunroof? This would be a good opportunity to do so.
Congrats on getting one back on the road.

it was definately cheaper than buying a similar car, by far, but it ended up being about 2 grand more than i had planned. overall, very happy.
the guys who did most of the work are my bests friends and they run a business doing basically the same thing all the time. so they gave me a killer deal on the labor, and i did as much as i could, seeing that I had to work my regular job etc. and help at home with the 1-month old baby.
but they did an amazing job and you would have a very hard time seeing the minor clues that tip it off as a wrecked-fixed car. mechanically, it's probably 100%, the only thing i am going to keep an eye on is the wiring harness and connections.
alignment, balance and rigidity is perfect. the panels fit 99.9%, but there are 2 spots where we couldn't get it exactly right without a lot of extra work. see if you can find them in the pics if you feel like it. first person to point out either of the 2 locations gets a free beer !!! *
[edit: one of the locations doesn't show up in the pics... the front right edge of the hood is slightly higher than the front right fender.]
fine print... you have to be somewhere that I am at the same time at some point in our lives to claim prize.
i am hoping to meet up with some of you and see more 
's on the road... i'll be moving to Toronto in a few weeks, so until then i'll be rockin NE georgia.

looks great. my dad and I did this to a front-end totalled acura when I was in high school. I ended up going from a 12 year old accord hatch to a 2 year old integra after about a year of working on it after school and buying parts here and there.

too late 
i was going to do that, but figured i would just go stock. it does have some nice upgrades allready, from Nereus, and i just got a Cobb Accessport, so i'm very happy with it so far.
next would be to get a boost gage (miss the old one already), engine block heater (should have gotten the heated mirrors while i had to buy anyway), 17" rims, and HID light conversion.
i might also put the roof rack rails on it (i had an extra set, but decided to wait) and ... what else??
rear STB (removable) and that's about it.
I already put 1200 miles on it, so it's up to 7400 miles !!

15 minutes north of Commerce on I-85.
i go to athens quite a bit, though,. i'd like to see some more saabs around if we get a chance to plan something.
